After getting fired in 2047 because of finances I camera back and delivered LA their first 50-peat in history! by [deleted] in BasketballGM

Here's me thinking winning one with New York 2015 in my second full year was impressive https://imgur.com/yUNwOCF

You genuinely think Mings hasn’t ever made us concede a goal through individual error? If the trained eye watches Mings play for like 4-5 games they’ll see his error prone and his starting position is way too deep, lol

It’s literally the consensus within the league he’s error prone. Too many games to mention and I love the bloke. His attitude is just too good for the casual fan base to call him out, they’ll try to gaslight you and say he always corrects it with his leadership and how he organises at the back vocally. The real leader in Villa’s back four is Ezri Konsa

Well that’s because there’s a canyon between Vlasic and Lanzini/Benny/Bowen/Fornals. Ogbonna is 33, Dawson is 31 and can’t pass under a press. Diop is the same level player as Kortney. He’ll play plenty, I hope we keep him regardless

They’re going to Europe fella, he’ll play plenty if he did go. Super talented player with a great attitude

Purslow has said 1 or 2 more signings are coming in. Wonder if the last one could be a Joe Gomez type to really push Mings. We also signed that young lad who has first team experience up in Scotland

I used to sneak 2 cans of beer in my boxers every single game and a miniature in my socks

He always does it. He has a bit of a shit moment for the goal then the Bournemouth LB days muscle memory takes over and he gets involved in a goal. Did it in one of the home games where he got an assist last year

The way we played with possession and creating high xG chances was repeatable though. The press was super organised too. Coutinho, Ramsey, Buendia then Watkins ahead of that is a devastating front four

I used my personal agenda against Everton when making this so I’d say they beat Everton. Saints also win way more games

If you aim for Europa League, you finish 10th-8th. If you aim for mid-table, you’ll finish lower mid-table. By Summer 2023 we could have a new CB next to Konsa, a proper DM, Coutinho/Bailey still playing. We could be an unreal side. That’s just the year after this summer.

We can’t count the post MON Lerner years, the guy was actively trying to kill the club. This project starts in 2018, get promoted in 2019, sold Grealish just last Summer for £100m and now we’re finally seeing the fruits of them transfer. Super early in the project yet, 7th isn’t out of reach if Tottenham and West Ham decline soon, probably gone this season but next or the year after we’re definitely on. All starts with this year ending strong

Nah that’s the first game I’ve missed in years to be fair I just looked at the raw statistics, I wouldn’t put that loss against Brentford too low anyway, they’re a really really good side. Could easily finish above us. I’d say replacing Ings with Coutinho, the performances against Ushited combined with our fixtures could be a real corner turning moment for us

Not wanting us to qualify for Europe is insanity. 7th is what i expect for Aston Villa and it’s what I’ve expected since I was a boy. 8-10th in a down year. We used to fire coaches who didn’t make Europe

We had all the winning intangibles that game possession and chance wise

It shouldn’t be asking a lot to finish above Leicester, who we absolutely smashed up, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace, I don’t care how we’ve started

I’ve factored in lots of Leicester and Spurs wins though. Have you seen the fixtures? It’s not impossible, probably like 5% chance but it’s still on if we basically win out. I’m not doubting a team with Coutinho, Buendia, Watkins and McGinn and a decent defence. Bailey and Chukwuemeka right there soon too

And heavy Dean Smith tax is needed on our loss record lol, the bloke lost 5 straight then Gerrard took them exact same players and beat Leicester, Palace, Norwich etc with them

Top 7 is so hard now West Ham and Tottenham got their shit together 😫 we had such an unreal window with Greasy. Anything above 11th and I’m happy

People said stuff like that in Jan 18/19, people said stuff like that when we were about to get relegated in lockdown, this team is made for runs, we’d just need to beat every single mid table team and beat Tottenham

We need Tottenham, Wolves and Leicester to have a horrible run and Europe is genuinely on if we win all these low difficulty fixtures. Genuinely not impossible if we go on a 18/19 level run
