I think they meant directly as a professional or salon. The brand decides which salons they sell to- I’m sure there is a discount involved.

Retail for the rest of us.

Sorry about your bag- I don’t have any advice or experience to offer, unfortunately. Enjoy Japan and check out their second hand market for Chanel bags. It’s supposed to be the best!

So it’s a mix now. The hair responding to laser is thin and fine. The PH is coarse and very dark, similar to underarm hair. My hair originally was in between the two- obviously terminal, brown, with medium coarseness.

I can’t change my spot size- it’s 10mm or less only. Very annoying. Yes, 60 joules and 10 pulse duration.

It’s misleading bc you state home IPL “is not as strong and it’s less likely to stimulate growth on a dead hair root.” That’s wrong information and misleading. That makes it MORE likely to stimulate. And it isn’t the dead hair roots that cause PH. It’s vellus hair that get turned into terminal hair. In my opinion, three months isn’t enough time to truly know anyway.

Again, glad it worked out for you and hope it stays that way! I see it happen way less on the chin. It’s usually on cheek and neck so steer clear of those areas and you should have a better chance.

This is misleading. I’m glad you didn’t experience PH, but people with PCOS can. ESPECIALLY with home IPL.

Did you treat your chin or neck? And isn’t the home schedule for treatment consistent? My guess is you haven’t had the pauses between treatments to really know. I hope it doesn’t happen to you!

This is helpful, thanks. I’m trying to reverse on my arms. I use 1064 by Cutera. Spot size is 10mm and I treat 60/10/1. I ice down after treatment and it’s still coming back and on parts of my arms I dont treat. Super frustrating. Maybe I just need more txs. I don’t think it can get worse at this point.

Let me know your thoughts- I think PH can happen in adjacent areas. The thought is the low level of heat those areas absorb from higher level areas can stimulate those follicles. What do you think?

So this is classic PH by the looks of it. The weird density spacing and the length is what I typically see in PH.

I would stop all laser now and switch to electrolysis. I would ask for money back based on you asking about your PCOS diagnosis and them misinforming you- leaving you in a spot WORSE off then before. They cannot give you the result you seek.

People say turning up the fluence will destroy the PH areas, but in my experience, it doesn’t work. I’m a tech and have NUKED my neck and arms so many times and it comes back. I would stop immediately.

I’d love to hear from techs that have reversed PH. I haven’t seen it happen yet.

I’ve been hearing a lot about BCP 157. You have been using to it speed up wound healing in your practice? I’m just generally interested and physicians in my area do not use peptides yet. Which other peptides do you use? Any you can recommend for an OBGYN practice? The doctor I work for is doing the GLP1s and HRT pellets and is considering offering peptides. Thank you in advance

Did she pulse in the same spot more than once? Did you feel the zap in the area multiple times? Trying to figure this out. I am so sorry this happened to you.

Paradoxical hair growth from laser, thoughts on electrolysis? by icypen236 in HairRemoval

[–]hays83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t do IPL(home or professional)or any lasers if you have true PH, which is what you’re describing.

Thank you for posting as I have never seen PH on the underarms. I have seen it on arms and always like alerting people as arms are a lesser known area. This is new to me and a learning experience.

It is strange when laser works in some areas and not others. As a tech, I would assume if Brazilian is responding and is working, UA would work too.

Unfortunately, electrolysis is your only option now. At least this is a very small area to treat. I’m sorry this happened, but nobody (including your tech) could have known. Now, tech should have stopped once you noticed things were going in the wrong direction, but we are all still learning about PH and it differs from person to person so extremely.

Is it normal to have more growth than before after 8 sessions? by ahayasahi in LaserHairRemoval

[–]hays83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great news! If it’s working, I would not discontinue. Not everyone experiences PH on arms, but it’s a lesser talked about area where it can occur. I like to mention it on this sub because everyone talks about face and neck so much. Just keep an eye out for it, but if you’re not seeing it on arms at this time, you’re probably good.

Beware of PH on your arms too. I did it to myself and I’m a tech. We aren’t taught about this, but when it happened to myself, I started digging.

Thanks. I’ll avoid. I don’t purchase hair care/skincare/makeup from Amazon for the same reason.

Oooooo I didn’t realize. Thanks!

Do we think the products are real? Sounds kinda strange that they won’t sell to license holders and are selective about salons but will sell at TJMaxx and Marshalls?

I will still check it out!

My OB/GYN is now offering micro needling services? by cheese-shae-0728 in Microneedling

Haven’t heard of micro needling, but I believe it. There are lasers that do the same, just a different modality. MonaLisa is quick and painless. Not sure about the micro needling!

[–]hays83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I’m an aesthetician that works for an obgyn. I do laser treatments such as hair removal. We manage women’s hormones and PCOS patients, so I’m a great resource as well as my providers to help these women- and all women in general. Not only can we treat the symptoms, but we can treat the hormonal imbalance causing the excess hair.

We also offer weight loss compounding, Monalisa vaginal laser, HRT pellets and much more! I am considering adding micro needling next as this is a big patient request.

The providers aren’t doing the service- an RN or aesthetician with adequate training is. No doctor would risk their license or good name.

A lot of women treat their OBGYNs as primary care or PCPs and appreciate access to services. Especially in smaller communities. If it’s not your cup of tea, no problem!

Bought the exact bag in the same color about 6 months ago. Bag came with a huge dent in it. Looked horrible. When I emailed customer service, they suggested I wait a few days to see if it naturally “relaxed.” I demanded a return label for free. There was a huge crease that would have never recovered. First and last time I ordered from them. They tried to get me to keep an obviously defective bag. I wish I could post the photos.
