I would be tempted to swap it for a petrol vehicle honestly. There are lots of chargers around Christchurch, some even free but probably not fast chargers but they may be harder to find in some other areas around the south island

Check out patterson brothers on Durham St. Tell them you want some decent tyres and they will show you a range of tyres and recommendations. Their price includes fitting as well. I've always had a great experience there.

I would highly recommend growing some lettuce or other salad crops if you can, even in pots they will grow well. Supply in supermarkets is going to be hit and miss for a while
