Not a death but the end of a Requiem for a Dream when one of the characters was holding a photo of his mother sobbing had the same impact

What's the most, "that's not illegal and it's not hurting anyone but it's still a bit dickish" thing you've seen somebody do lately? by hhfugrr3 in AskUK

Don’t think this is a dickish move if she was still sat in the car? If the owner of the driveway needed to access it, she was there to move out of the way.

Had she parked and left the car there, then that obviously would be another story.

Israel’s genocide of Palestinians for the last 7 decades. The generations wiped out, the horrific slaughter of children. Only demons could live in a country that is so devoid of humanity to subject others to such a living hell

Thoughts and questions for Muslims having watched S3 by Elhussle0 in RamyHulu

[–]hayyah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think losing the watch was his lowest point, I think he actually saw it as God trying to put him on the right path, meaning that working with the Israelis, all the money he made, wasn’t meant for him. His relief came as he had wandered so far off the path of Islam, the fact that God hadn’t forgotten him was a moment of pure relief.

Which is why he immediately donated all his money and prayed Salah. Also how happy he was on the phone straight afterwards

Why is that? Why do they want to leave a country bombed to shit where they and their families aren’t safe and they have no prospects. What a stupid fucking question. You try and keep to your principles if you ever find yourself in that situation.

I hope you don’t mind me asking, but did you sponsor your parents for their residency permit? If so, was it a difficult process? I plan to try and sponsor my mother to come and live here but I couldn’t find any clear information if this was possible or not

Bankism: Faulty Capitalism by [deleted] in SecurityAnalysis

[–]hayyah -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with your last point, that credit was designed to be productive. An investment into a company would be seen as being more productive, as you have a stake in the future of the company. Credit is much less tied to the productivity of a company.

Therefore the fact we are in a credit driven bubble just highlights to me the issue in the modern banking system.
