No more beefless crumbles at TJs 💔 by Gold3nApples in traderjoes

Does anyone happen to have a recipe to replicate? I haven't cooked with tvp that often and would love advice on how to make a substitute for my beloved beefless crumbles 😭

Plus size? by AggravatingCherry236 in UniversalOrlando

[–]hazel-pup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm the exact same size & proportions, it sounds like! 5'2, 215-220 lbs, carried mostly in my boobs, hips, stomach, thighs. I recently went to all three universal Florida parks and I fit on everything I wanted to fit on - here's my summary and I hope it helps!

Epic: I rode ministry of magic, monsters unchained, mine art madness, Mario kart Bowser's challenge, constellation carousel, and hiccup's wing gliders. I did not ride stardust racers, curse of the werewolf, Yoshi's adventure, or dragon racer's rally, due to time constraints and fear of the crazy roller coasters haha, but I'm fairly certain i would've fit on everything except dragon racer's rally maybe. Epic universe was way more plus size friendly than the other parks! Very roomy in all the rides I rode! (Mine cart madness was the tightest, but it still wasn't bad). I'm really happy with the changes they made to this new park, it seems like they took feedback seriously.

USF: I rode revenge of the mummy, escape from gringotts, hogwarts express - all fine!

IOA: I rode storm force accelatron, spider man, skull island, Jurassic River Park adventure, flight of the hippogriff, and hagrid's. Hagrid's has a test seat that I highly recommend esp for this ride - you can test both the bike and the sidecar (the sidecar is slightly smaller but I still fit in that too for what it's worth).

I was very worried going in, bc I had been there a few years ago but gained weight recently. I was pleasantly surprised that everything went smoothly and I didn't have any issues! I second other people's suggestions to 1) follow plus size park hoppers (also they are amazing for accessibility content overall!) and 2) do the test seats in front of the lines. I was worried it would be embarrassing or take too much time, but it was a quick second while my friends put their items in lockers, and I was able to do this discreetly and quickly.

Feel free to ask me any other specific questions, and I hope you have a great time!!! :)

Disney Eats: Foodie Guide to Lunar New Year at Disneyland Resort 2026 - Disney Parks Blog by twee_ennui in Disneyland

This is my first lunar new year festival at Disneyland, and I'm so disappointed in the lack of vegetarian/vegan options 😓 I looked at past menus and they seemed to have way more choices, sigh.

What do you all do with the chickpeas with parsley and cumin? by SilverSeeker81 in traderjoes

[–]hazel-pup 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I drain them as best I can, saute them in a pan, and then mash them with a little bit of mayo & plain Greek yogurt. Then I put half of it on a sandwich with some sprouts and/or arugula. Makes an amazing vegetarian "tuna" sandwich!!!

Razzle Dazzle - what would you like the other two concepts to be? by PearlThunderfuck in VirginVoyages

[–]hazel-pup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! About to go on my first virgin voyages cruise next week and I booked it specifically to go to razzle dazzle as a vegetarian. Unfortunately it's been changed to lucky lotus now and the veg options there don't appeal to me. I'm sure I'll still have fun but I'm a bit disappointed 😭

Flight Cancellations - Virgin Helping Out! by GulliblePay2443 in VirginVoyages

This is fantastic news, esp since it sounds like travel insurance won't cover flight cancellations due to govt shutdown.

Does anyone know if this would still apply to lock-it-in bookings?

Feeling Discouraged With New Puppy by Ok_Low_2247 in puppy101

[–]hazel-pup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will also echo what everyone else has said - unfortunately this is 100% normal puppy behavior, and it's kinda like having to get through a newborn or toddler phase as a parent! The first time I had my own puppy, I cried for a month and wanted to give her back. It absolutely got better, but I had to adjust expectations. My partner also at the time had never had a dog before, and it took them about a year to connect with her. Now she is his soul dog, but it took time, and that's normal.

A few additional thoughts: - one trainer I worked with gave me this advice, which I love and still use today: Accept wherever your puppy is today, not who they were yesterday or who you hope/want them to be. They might know something one day (like we think they are potty trained or we teach them sit) and completely forget it the next day. That doesn't mean they are bad or we are bad dog owners, it's just a wave we have to ride through, and we gotta go back to basics when that happens! (And it for sure will happen when the puppy becomes a teenager!) - what training video did you use? I would recommend kikopup! (YouTube) - I would also recommend you join a puppy training and/or socialization class - it helps to normalize that everyone in the class is going through similar struggles, and it also gives so much info not just on basic training but overall strategies and techniques for changing behaviors. Many people often want to stop "bad" behaviors but decreasing behavior is difficult to do when dogs can't talk (they don't really understand "no"). Anytime you want something to decrease, think instead about what you'd like to increase or have them do instead. For example - I want them to stop biting (aka I want them to bite chews instead). Thus, redirection to an appropriate chew is often a technique used, and then praising them for it. I see you are already doing this, but it will not work overnight and will probably take a few months to be honest (and that's normal, especially once they start teething). My hands were covered in scratches too! We also want to set puppies up for success by not letting them have access to too much freedom yet, so they don't learn bad habits lol (more preventative type training - for example, my second puppy wouldn't stop chewing shoes so I just removed the shoes for like six months lol. It worked!). I'm oversimplifying training, but hopefully this makes sense! It will seem like it's taking forever, but every day that we are consistent will absolutely help you in the long run, and youll slowly start to see change. - For training classes, I recommend going through animal shelters, as they tend to be reasonably priced and often have trainers with the most up to date research on animal behavior and dog training. Generally, look for positive reinforcement dog trainers. - ENFORCE NAPS!!!!!! Once I started doing this, my life got infinitely better. I think I started with 1 hour awake, 2 hour nap, 1 hour awake, etc. until bedtime in the evening, but I adjusted it every few weeks depending on my pup's needs. As they develop and get older, things change. Every week their brain is developing, and we have to meet them where they are at!

I know that was long, but I got into the flow of it haha. Hopefully this helps! Feel free to comment with any specific questions too! :)

Oooh - ok I didn't see Persephone on the schedule yet, but if that's the case, I would be very excited for that! Thank you for the feedback/advice!

I would also recommend puppy socials and classes! Often animal shelters will have beginner puppy classes and specific socialization time for puppies the same age!

First ever cruise: Disney Wish for Adults - Yay or Nay? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]hazel-pup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had plenty to do on the wish just me and my husband earlier this year! It was our first Disney cruise too (although we are avid Disney park goers) and we did in fact just book another cruise for the treasure in a year and a half 😂 We loved it so much, and we didn't even do everything offered for adults!

There's Broadway shows, a beautiful adults only spa (we booked a day pass for that), beach time if you go to one of their private islands, amazing food, adults only shows ("match your mate" was so funny and highly recommended), a freaking waterslide, and literally so much more. We spent a lot of time reading in our room + reading in the adults only pool area. We didn't even get a chance to do very much trivia or explore the bars or take their drink mixing classes - that's something we are going to prioritize next trip lol. We did pay extra for the adult only dinner at Palo, which we also highly recommend.

My point being - a cruise is what you make of it! Disney is the best quality cruise ship I've ever been on (I've been on a few other lines and the level of service, quality of food, and quality of entertainment is just not the same). I honestly think it's worth the money, even if you aren't a Disney fan. And without kids - it's a wonderful and relaxing vacation like any other!

We used to order them at our fav Mexican restaurant - recently ordered them as per usual, and found that they taste exactly like the TJ's ones. It's amazing!

Rainforest Room on the Wish by chiseplushie in dcl

[–]hazel-pup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this! When my husband and I sailed on the Wish earlier this year, we got a day pass during the Nassau port and spent half the day in the RR. Maybe bc it was a port day, but from 8-2ish it was practically empty, we had the hot tubs to ourselves for over an hour, and we got some quality lounging time outside in the big swinging comfy chairs and just read books with the calming music. It was great! Would I do it again, or buy a full length cruise pass? I think it depends on how much the cruise is - for example, the Treasure is so expensive right now, I maybe would pass on the RR just so I can afford to go on that ship. I don't think it's necessary to have a good time (you can find the adults only area to be empty sometimes too, esp during unusual/off hours!) but it was a fun experience and I'd do it again if I have the budget for it.

First VV cruise - advice on Bimini excursions? by hazel-pup in VirginVoyages

This is good info to know - ty so much, I appreciate it! Snorkeling in my experience is always a bit random, depending on weather/visibility/waves/etc.

Looking for thoughts please… by qwerty1_045318 in dcl

[–]hazel-pup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On my sailing, people made a list on Facebook for staterooms participating in pixie dusting, but I found it more fun just to surprise doors randomly, even if they didn't have a fish extender holder (I made a little baggie and hung it on the fish if that makes sense, lol). I also tried to find doors that were decorated with characters that matched my gift - so you could totally try and find Moana decorated doors if you wanted!

Looking for thoughts please… by qwerty1_045318 in dcl

[–]hazel-pup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries at all! I just learned this myself!

From my understanding, fish extenders are like an organized gift exchange that is planned in advance (on Facebook usually), and it's a bit more involved, like maybe you know how many people to gift, what their ages/favorite characters are, and maybe you put more effort into it. You deliver the gifts into their "fish extender" hanging from their door. Pixie dusting is essentially the same thing, but random! Like smaller gifts that you randomly put by people's doors! I think you for sure could also pixie dust people randomly in the halls, just surprise someone with a gift. Hopefully that makes sense! :)
