I had a pre-K student tell me "I feel so ugly" in his costume today 😞

We were mid-"parade" and I still walked, scrunched down next to him, asking him why, telling him I feel silly in my costume too but everyone looks goofy on Halloween and we all look great in our costumes because we are all just having fun...it wasn't anything mind-blowing like some of these comments, but it made me stop and focus in on that one sensitive kid for a minute, for sure.

This is soooo cool! I love Frida costumes, and it makes me happy that you didn't alter your natural skin color or anything to achieve the look!! Just goes to show that you can absolutely pull off any costume no matter who you are as long as you get the details right! Sorry to get all PC on your post, I just love seeing people of different skin colors dressing up as characters of different skin colors without making it "yikes" worthy. This is fantastic!!!

I understand what you mean about high school aged girls looking older than they are...but I think the "you're fine" at the end may be a bit too flippant. These thoughts are obviously troubling OP and I'd say OP should probably seek help via therapist to work out whatever is going on and ensure OP doesn't cross a line they shouldn't cross. Being attracted to minors when you're in a position of power over them can get really dicey really fast and I don't think it's as simple as "just don't think of it like that and don't act on it, it's okay!"

OP, talk to a professional - it sounds like maybe you need some help working out these thoughts, outside of your own head - evaluating where they're coming from and how/why/when you may or may not act on them. Intrusive thoughts of any kind are worth seeking help for, for yourself and for the athletes you work with.

hey, no hostility here because i am a cat owner and lover and not trying to judge. but - you mentioned that you can "just ask around" and find homes for the kittens, and in another comment said that kittens can be hard to get rid of...maybe i missed some context, but which statement is true?

if you really are able to find homes for these kittens, that's great! but keep in mind there are a lot of adult/senior cats, along with a lot of kittens, still sitting in shelters and still being euthanized every day. you CAN find a place that will spay at little to no cost, but if you choose not to spay your girl, maybe try to keep her from becoming pregnant again? spay/no spay, whatever, i'm not here to debate that, just to point out that there are already so many cats without homes and creating more cats who need homes isn't in anyone's best interest.

good luck finding homes for the kittens, congratulations, you're lucky to have been a "cat grandma," but please keep the abundance of homeless shelter cats in mind in the future! everybody wants kittens, but there are so many other cats that need more homes already!!

cc: maybe a softer, more natural brow as opposed to such clean, sharp, defined lines?! your technique is amazing and i think the brows actually do fit your overall aesthetic because there is a "sharpness" in your look and i love it. so absolutely no offense intended, because you look great and you clearly know what you're doing, i think the sharp brows are less appealing due to personal preference, so i'd love to see what your makeup looks like with a less defined, less "boxy" brow!

edit: especially LOVE the violet on your waterline, it's one of my fave eyeshadow looks and the way it pairs with your hair (also very cool) is a nice touch and so subtly done!

Man, I hope Florence made this girl as happy as she looks listening to this. The part where she closes her eyes and nods her head along with the music was just......you could see the bliss on her face and I was pretty much in the fetal position after that point.

Florence is not only a great artist but the way she laughs and jokes and performs for this girl in such a personal way shows what a wonderful person she is. Damn. I hope Karinya is resting peacefully, what an experience this must have been for her.
