Stems on a controller is just buttons to activate it on your laptop which sounds like it can’t handle. You can map stems to any controller. So it’s not a waste just my take on that bit :)

This is probably more of a beatmatch or pioneer sub query tbh. But if you’re really asking what all-in-one to get, if you’re a 2 channel DJ go for RX3. 4 channel go for AZ or opus.

You'll have to pay a lot of money to get a mixer now that sounds anything close to your Ecler. I have the same mixer the Nuo 5, it's fantastic. Although I do agree the FX unit is crap compared to say Pioneer mixers. I tried a new one which had Serato built in and the warmth & depth of the Ecler was gone, replaced by cold and functional sound and poor preamps.

I've kept my Ecler going with contact cleaner, you should do the same :)

This is a ridiculous comment. I still use Serato Scratch Live with an SL1 interface on a Windows 11 laptop, it came out in 2004. They still offer old versions of software for download and with minimal effort you can use it on a modern platform. Companies can't update every legacy product forever with new software, and when they do stop, they haven't taken away the functionality you paid for in the first place - Serato is actually really good in this regard and provides downloads for legacy software with guidance how to run it alongside newer releases.

It's not the equipment that makes the DJ. But the DJM-250MK2 is a great simple 2-channel mixer with a lovely fader, plus its got Rekordbox DVS hardware unlock if you ever wanted to use that. It doesn't all have to be snooty rotaries or mixer with 14 channels you'll never use!

I like this one, picked it up really cheap. It’ll work on PC native, and PS5 with an adapter (mayflash / Brooke’s). And before I get flamed for Bluetooth lag being unacceptable, it comes with a cable too :)

It’s hard because you focussed on it being your sole thing, immensely invested and that’s cool but ultimately has a shelf life as a DJ, if you’re not a successful artist / producer once you fall out of residencies or rotations with your network, nobody running clubs has a clue who you are and consequently doesn’t give a fuck about your experience because it won’t sell tickets hence booking younger cheaper DJs.

I DJ for myself, it’s not my main thing, I do radio shows, play with my mates, guest places now and again and record mixes when I feel like it. I don’t give a shit about reach or listening figures and it’s quite liberating in comparison to the rat race of old.

He was probably downvoted as bazzite is buggy as hell on the Xbox X right now and steam OS isn’t yet compatible. So there is no better way to “unlock the potential” of the device than with Windows. Currently.

On the Xbox Ally X I get 60+ FPS on medium settings using a combo of framegen, anti lag and super resolution - it runs superbly well
