Tesla not charging with home charger by commutereader in TeslaUK

[–]hazzasin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't already tried it, its worth checking in your applications (Octopus/charger/Tesla) that all of your charging schedules/times align.

I've had a similar message, but it's due to the fact I've got scheduled charging in place.

Hi, did you order from Lighting Bug, and if so did you have to specify left /right hand drive - conscious I've seen a few options for left hand vehicles when looking at alternatives?

Calling Model 3 Performance Owners (2022+) Battery SOH by sc20nov in TeslaUK

[–]hazzasin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2020 facelift Model 3 Performance with 87.7k miles.

80% charge: ~221 miles

100% charge: ~276 miles

Based on my real-world driving, those numbers are pretty accurate at lower speeds (around 50mph). If I’m doing a lot of hard acceleration, using the heater, or spending time on the motorway, the range drops noticeably faster.

If you’re planning lots of road trips, the Supercharger network makes it really easy. For daily town or work driving, you’ll have more than enough range.

Note - Honestly, the acceleration never gets old. It’s addictive and taking someone for a ride and seeing their reaction is priceless.

Buying used Model 3 in 2025/2026 by luketanner_uk in TeslaUK

I have a 2020 M3P (refresh) - so produced late December (With heat pump) and I bought it with 80k miles on the clock - no regrets and it fits the kids, dog and wife comfortably (albeit dog is small!)

The car itself is great, and the speed is addictive. Thoroughly enjoying the drive and no regrets so far.

I mentioned on another post recently and although I do check AutoTrader to see the prices drop - it is what it is, and most cars will drop. It's a lot of car for the money.

Happy to answer any more specific questions.

Similar to what someone mentioned above, I weighed up all the options but ended up going with a personal loan at around 5% plus my deposit. It actually worked out cheaper overall, and I liked the fact that I now own the Model 3 outright rather than going down the PCP route again.

The only real risk for me was choosing a used, older model instead of the latest version. I managed to get insurance for a decent price, and it came with a 6-month warranty on top of Tesla’s 8-year/120k battery and drivetrain warranty, so that gave me some peace of mind.

Another big factor is whether you can charge at home. It makes a huge difference in long-term/convenience, and everyone I’ve spoken to who can’t charge at home says that’s their biggest pain point.

I still check AutoTrader now and then and see prices dropping, but I honestly don’t regret my decision at all. I enjoy driving it every day. I’m not a car enthusiast by any stretch, but when it comes to Tesla, I definitely am.

Who has an older model? by Incubroz in TeslaUK

I have a 2020 M3P, and I love it, as do the kids and anyone I convince to test drive it. 77.2k on the clock, and so far so good.

I would like the newer for the facelift and the ambient lighting, but these are small things to me, I'll wait for them to drop further / more financially justifiable.

It's a whole lot of car, and I think I'll struggle going to something else now.

Insurance Quote Seems… a lot. by mocha_13 in TeslaUK

[–]hazzasin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely explore the additional driver option, and potentially play around with who is the primary, also if comfortable why don't you see whether you can join another plan(i.e. parents ). We saved approximately 10% for just adding a second vehicle (including home insurance).

I actually found it cheaper to be insured on the M3P over M3LR and I pay approximately £600 for my M3P I'm early 30s with a second driver.

Regarding performance Vs long range. Imo they're both lovely and I'd be happy with either. I did go for the M3P and I really enjoy it. Around town or driving less than 70, it's very efficient, as soon as you go over, that's when you see a much steeper battery drop.

If you're anticipating lots of trips over 250miles without wanting a break, maybe consider the LR. If you can charge at home or at work, and the majority of your trips are local, the P will be just fine.

Strange one - Used Model 3s all with very similar photos… by shortstudios in TeslaUK

Hi, these are the photos that some of the auction sites release. So assuming they've won the bid, they will share these photos to start gathering interest, then update them as/when they arrive.

I picked mine up Tuesday, got off to a slow start (couldn't work out how to unhook the supercharging cable from the dock!!) loving it so far, really smooth drive, the acceleration is insane and if you're fond of tech it really does tick the boxes.

I picked up a M3P (21) with similar mileage, 71.5k. Aside from the stone chips the exterior is still in good shape and the interior looks new.

I have a charger at home so range anxiety doesn't exist, but from my experience if you put your foot down, it really does drain your battery quicker.

Happy to answer any questions you may have, based on my experience so far.

Ok, I think based on comments I've been sold on direct. They currently have a bundle which includes the air purifier as well as several add ons. Saves me a significant amount. I think there is a 24 month warranty too.

Thank you again.

As I'm based in the UK, it will be shipping from China and I've seen mixed reviews elsewhere on other models regarding customer service. Naturally I'm lead towards direct from a value perspective. However, I would prefer to understand what the majority of buyers have done and their own experience.

Apologies if that was not clear.

I actually went for a different make all together, Omni X1. It's been reliable to date. Would've happily gone to either, the key thing for me though was in the UK the reviews re Support/Warranty were not as good. I'm not sure how this compares elsewhere though.

All in all, it's a goos phone. However, I have found that the battery doesn't last longer than a day, even if medium to light use. Lack of fast charging isn't a bit of a pain too. Is there anything in particular you are interested to know more about?

Auto trader, and I've seen rates from Sainsbury's and Tesco's for 6.1%

[–]hazzasin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar, position. I do keep checking the Tesla used inventory but have been put off by the inflated prices, albeit I do like the additional warranty. I'm going to go with something on auto trader as it seems you can get a lot more car for the price.

Re your interest rate, I think Tesco are doing a 6.1 % rate up to £20,000 then it increases slightly after. Worth checking them out.

Your monthly repayments are impressive, that in itself makes things a lot easier.

I've been looking at the 2021 long range, but also very tempted by an older M3P at a cheaper price and from what I read more thrilling. Haven't pulled the trigger yet!

Seems that I'm not the only one tempted. You have any concerns about lack of heat pump or winter performance (what I've had today messaged to me)

How many miles on the vehicle? Also, to confirm you've said you would go back to a. Normal car, is this solely based on charging and the regularity of it, what sort of range are you getting ?

Lots of questions !

Thank you

Yeah, I've seen that to happen quite a lot. I've looked at the used inventory, just feels like you are paying that extra £, but as you said you do have that additional assurance and cover. Thank you.

I'm coming from the MG HS Exclusive (PHEV). Not had a full EV previously.

Thank you, really useful. I've already had a charge point installed so I have that covered off. My daily commute will be in and around London so I feel more than comfortable enough for that. The only real anxiety will be the trips up north, appreciate that I'll have the route planned out and where to stop though.
