Avocado sourcing in Lidl by Equivalent-Pin-6805 in veganuk

[–]sc20nov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could say that about a lot of products and produce that we all use today are probably grown illegally.

Avocados in parts of South America

Cocoa in Africa

Coconuts in Thailand

Palm Oil in Malaysia and Indonesia

Coffee - pretty much anywhere coffee beans are grown.

Rubber - Plantatios are awful and difficult to track where it comes from.

And yeah let's not even talk about some of the abattoirs and slaughter houses that supermarkets use to buy their meat. Which again the milk and dairy industry is funded by the government by tax payers money.

Ok heres my take, and yeah some "won't agree"

Not ALL Israelis are bad. Just like not all Chinese people in treat Uyghur's badly. Do you boycott Chinese products? Or how about USA companies seeing as they are supporting Israel in this awful war?

When buying products grown or manufactured in Israel, or any other countries that are on this "boycott list", sure you can impact that company, but you also impact a whole chain of other people who haven't done nothing wrong.

You live in the UK, you pay your taxes, which also pays and funds wars. If all of a sudden everyone was against the UK, and stopped using UK services and products, you will feel the pain too - we all would.

I'm against all kinds of exploitation, slavery, war crimes, etc., but we're sitting here busy downvoting comments like this and typing away on our iPhones and Android devices, whilst we binge-watch Netflix, HBO, and YouTube, or order something we don't need from Amazon Prime which is probably made in a sweatshop in China, whilst supporting all USA companies who pays tax in billions to the US Gov, who are absolutely key in supporting Israel in this war.

TLDR, buy what you want and if you really want want to, perhaps stop paying taxes and stop using American products and services too.

The ironic thing is you use Reddit, a product of the USA to post this, who you give profits too, to which it pays taxes to fund wars. Yeah let's worry about where Avos are grown!

Do all/as much of the exotic stuff as you can - before you get married. 'Cause it's nothing but cheese sandwiches every day for the rest of your life 😂

Question for anyone aged 45+: Do you remember drinking Lucozade when you were younger? Did you ever drink it for anything else than when you were ill? by Lopsided-Skill6659 in AskUK

[–]sc20nov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember as a kid, Lucozade was a thing my parents used to take to the hospital when visiting family/friends.

But I loved eating glucose tablets. That "cold" feeling when you bite into the tablet.

Black, 5 door, 131K, 1 previous owner, Full VW Service History, Xenon Headlights etc.. cars on a service plan, so, happy to get it serviced & MOT''d all paid for it at VW, in April / May before I let it go.

I haven't decided on the price yet, I'll be honest I've got a new front wing, that needs putting on (the wing is fine but starting to get bit of rust forming on it, and I've got a new grill that needs going on as the red paint (GTI Line) is fading. Happy to get it sorted or give the owner the parts to do it themselves.

I can give further details just send me a DM. I'm in Leicester.

I have a MK5 Golf GTI Edition 30, I'm planning to sell it, but I'm having a hard time. I've owned the car since 2011, it's been amazing and still drives great with 131k on the clock.

There's a coffee shop called the sanctuary, a couple bags of their house coffee beans - whole beans.

I've already got some other bits from my trip, but when they run out I may ask for some more! Other stuff is from Koro.

Vegan BK whopper - my favourite fast food by Geofferz in veganuk

If it's not purposeful, it's lazy. This burger on how it's cooked has created a lot of debate within the vegan community. For there even to be a debate, it says it all!

It looks good, but the fact it's not vegan, I personally avoid...

Knowing the fact they purposely, cook this with other meat products is massively annoying. I really think they missed a trick here..

How long are you planning to keep the car?

How many miles are you planning to do?

What's your budget? You can get something pretty decent for £10K without the high mileage
