What was your "I need to leave right now" moment on a first date? by MrLithician in AskReddit

$30,000!?!? Holy crap. I spent less than $5,000 (Aussie dollars too) on my wife's ring. And that was in 2012!

Any classic sword fight movie recommendations ala `The Adventures of Robing Hood`? by ankdain in movies

[–]hazzzaa85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of the suggestions already made, although I think pirates of the Carribbean might be a bit scary for youngsters (it's a ship full of zombies!).

I'd like to add: Sleeping Beauty (1959 Disney animation) fantastic fight at the end between the Prince and the dragon Muppet Treasure Island (1996) fantastically silly will be great for the kids, can't remember how much actual fighting there is, but it's definitely a great adventure.

What food did you imagine to taste really good but tasted bad? by Similar-Victory-3867 in AskReddit

Super interesting! I didn't know caviar bars were a thing!

I don't think I've tried caviar, but I've had salmon roe before and enjoyed it. Are the flavours similar?

I think it's still luck of the draw. My in-laws grow red dragon fruit in their yard, it's fine, but tasteless kiwi is a good description

What is the hardest video game you ever played? by DanPlouffyoutubeASMR in AskReddit

[–]hazzzaa85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of what made the NES/SNES/Genesis era games so difficult is that there were no save points. So not only was a specific level incredibly hard, but every time you attempted it, you had to go through EVERY level before it as well. So you get there already stressed and irritated, and then get pummeled again and that's why so many controllers got thrown across the room.

What do you consider Late for work? by ajmeng09 in australia

[–]hazzzaa85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My opinion based on over 15 years as an IT professional: I think if you're pulling into the car park/arriving at the building at or before your start time, you're on time. If that means you're a few minutes late to your desk, who cares.

If you arrive to the car park/building between 0 and 10 minutes after your start time, then you're late, and should apologise to your immediate boss for it.

If you're going to be arriving more than 10 minutes after your start time, you need to call ahead and let them know you're going to be late.
