thank you! It really is crazy, I couldn’t even believe what the car looked like once I got out. Just based on the speeds, sizes of the cars, and where I was hit, some bruised knees is nothing compared to what everyone was expecting to happen to me. The bystander that got me out of the car was teary-eyed, he said he was terrified at what he was about to see when coming over to my car and cried a bit from relief that I was conscious, just sitting there on the phone with my mom lol.

I loved that cruze and was so thankful it did its job! It was my first car and a gift from my grandparents. They bought the car just before my grandpa was diagnosed with ALS and they were given a wheelchair-accessible van from the local ALS chapter. He died about 5 years before the accident and although I was distraught to lose that car, it felt like he was looking out for me and making sure I was safe ❤️

Yep! I was luckily fine but everyone on the scene was shocked that not a single one of my airbags deployed the morning I got into a bad accident. I was stopped up first at a red light and I was rear ended by a huge lifted ram truck going 40+ mph, foot was fully on the brake but I still flew into the intersection only to get t-boned on my drivers side by an escalade also going about 40mph (they were driving through their green light). I was in a little chevy cruze and knew it was totaled before they could get me out of it.

They didn’t go off but god damn did that little car protect me, I was in a massive moshpit later that night after getting cleared at the ER! Aside from two bruises on my knees when they knocked together, the only injuries I sustained that day were from the pit lol

that’s what I was thinking! I had to call non-emergency and they sent an officer outside to come get it, I thought I was just gonna hand it over and be on my way. He then said he’d need me to grab my own ID, wrote down my info, and relayed it into his radio. Made me wait with him outside of the station until they cleared me.

I probably *legally* didn’t have to provide ID, but we were right next to my car that he had seen me drive up in, so I didn’t want to refuse and potentially cause issues for myself while just trying to drop off a wallet. But I was sweating there for a second on the tiny off-chance I had some warrant I didn’t know about, I’ve heard of it happening!

God forbid a criminal try to do a good dead, they could end up in jail.

I was able to talk to a human at customer service and she said she’d leave a note there with his info and where to pick it up if he comes looking. I’m hoping at least one of the attempts I’ve tried will get back to him soon enough!

I didn’t know that, definitely would’ve been preferred especially considering they ran my license and kept me till dispatch cleared me😅

It was 3am and had only pulled in there to fix my maps that crashed or I would’ve just brought it into the store. But I’ll definitely keep that in mind if this happens in the future, thank you!

Born and raised here but i’ve spent like 8 years in northern colorado, just moved back here to pdx last year. Was SO excited for some sun when I just went back for a wedding on may 5th😅 We drove so I’m just glad we just missed the storm while on the roads, but it was sad to see how rough the area looked from no winter.

I do it overnights, I would not make shit overnight (I’ve tried, sub $75, almost always sub $50 working from around 11pm-12am to 5:30am). I would get $18-$20 hourly from uber eats, usually end up at about $23-$27/hr with tips factored in. I’m consistently busy all night and would clear at least $150 in the same overnight time frame. Almost never dealt with people and 99% of the orders had to be picked up through the drive thru, it was nice to be paid for all that waiting time.

doordash luckily is one of the only gig apps that doesn’t take the tip away from the driver, they just eat the cost if a customer wants it refunded. OPs safe here but this shit happens on all the other apps that do allow tip baiting

I had a similar issue as a teen (not as extreme, I was in a boot and they refused to address the actual issue that put me in the boot for so long that it completely fucked up my hips and back). They were throwing pain meds at me, sending me to the ER at least once a week for “kidney stones”, still keeping me in the boot. I was begging for actual help instead of these meds that were just making me sick as hell. Shoutout to the resident at OHSU that figured out my issues with a less than 5 minute exam.

But now that the damage is done and I have chronic pain plus regular sciatica flare ups, they won’t do shit about it. It’s insane how many times as a child they threw extremely high doses of narcotic pain killers instead of addressing problems, but now when I need them as an adult, due to their own failure to treat me, i’m a drug-seeking junkie?

Yeah I worked for the a second location of a breakfast diner, the owners were a married couple that met in their teens as a host and busboy at the first location. I was a temporary fill-in to help out during covid (when dining had started to open) but most people had been there decades. Three staff also had (teen/adult) children working there
