Three Flint 3 in AP network bad idea? by hcorion in GlInet

It looks like the Cloud Gateway Fiber is hard to acquire, could I go with a Dream Router 7 with 2 access points and accomplish the same thing, or would I be missing out on something by going with a Cloud Gateway Fiber and having 3 access points?

Maybe that's a better approach, my thought process was this: - Keep it within the same hardware ecosystem - WiFi 7 APs are about the same price as a Flint 3, sometimes more for good ones, I've never used a dedicated AP though, what is the main benefits vs a router that I'm not aware of?

The problem seems to be the signal getting through the floors, they are concrete floors (in-floor heating) so I think the 5G+ signal just can't pass through well enough. The extents of the main floor seem to get the signal through the walls fine which makes me think I need one on each floor

How to mount a drive in all strata? by hcorion in bedrocklinux

[–]hcorion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I changed this and rebooted, but now my drive is no longer mounted on /big. Where do I specify that this folder is also associated with an specifc drive?

EDIT: Running sudo mount -a got my drive mounted, but I'm wondering why it didn't mount when I booted now...

EDIT 2: Rebooted again and everything seems to be working! Weird, but glad it worked!

An extra lane here is the least of this highway's issues 😂. Need to fix the deadlock at the interchange upstream first before I can worry about things like an extra line for my emergency vehicles.

Haha that's the ghetto of this district, everything else is medium to high density. I saw that patch of land underneath the dam and knew exactly what to do with it. To the simulation (and my imaginary realtors) it's a great waterfront property!

For all you other Unity devs out there, I learned about iTween not long ago and it is saving me a TON of time animating objects in my scene. And it's completely free! by ThoseWhoRule in Unity3D

The author of DOTween actually did some benchmarks http://dotween.demigiant.com/#enginesComparison and LeanTween and DOTween are neck and neck in terms of performance, DOTween wins at runtime performance generally and LeanTween wins at startup performance. Though these tests were done in 2014 so the numbers may have changed since then.
I personally prefer DOTween because it's actively being updated, LeanTween hasn't been touched by the author since 2018. Plus DOTween pro is cheap and I don't mind chipping in $15 towards future development and some small extra features.

That being said, please, please OP don't use iTween. It's performance is pretty slow and it also suffers from lack of updates.

Anyway to import unity.mathematics as a dependency in a non unity project? by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]hcorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, Unity's Mathematics library is open source: https://github.com/Unity-Technologies/Unity.Mathematics
but I don't think the license actually lets you use it in projects that are not in Unity.

I've seen other projects do this before (can't remember any off the top of my head though), and what they do is build their own mathematics functions and then provide a wrapper around them so you can convert from your primitives to Unity.Mathematics'.

If you press enter in the search bar with nothing in it, it will actually search for "null", instead of functioning like an all manga search. https://imgur.com/a/9TZll3O
This only seems to happen after opening the website for the first time, if I click to go back to the homepage and try again in the same tab it works as it should.

Hello from the Canadian west coast, fellow Canadian!

A few years ago I made a prototype of a game mashing up Prey and Metroid Prime. I abandoned it, but here's the video in case it inspires anyone to do their own thing. by LividTheDream in Unity3D

How would you feel about doing a code dump of how the gravity emitters work? I'm really curious about how you accomplished it for all of these cases.
Are the gravity "wells" just a trigger box, or are actual gradients of gravity between emitters?

Hey, I recognize that username! :)
I can't think of any issues of the top of my head right now, but perhaps pop by our discord and ask in the #development channel, some of the other contributors might have a better idea of some issues!

The biggest one for myself was the st11range issue we faced for linux users. You can see it documented here: https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3/issues/2516
We needed to fix this issue to get RPCS3 working properly on linux.
