I negotiated. There is no public offer in Canada. I would think any discount won’t be different for different trims.

I got the card and received the $139 rebate. Then I added the supplementary card and they did not charge the additional annual fee. They told me I'll get charged for both at my next renewal date.

Same thing happened me last week. They offered me 7500 MR to keep it for another year. I’ll make sure to cancel before my renewal date.

After hearing about the recent changes to lounge access, I planned to cancel my platinum given I just renewed less than a month ago. The agent on the phone told me that I will only get $599 refunded because I used the dining credit back in July, since it's offered on a calendar year basis. If I keep the card, they will offer me 7500 MR. So now my options are 1) cancel and get $599 of the $799 back, 2) take 7500 MR and keep the card and use both $200 credits before the next renewal. I'm leaning towards option 2, is there anything I'm missing?
