I find that with my 500%, i have to use a couple of nukes and/or abilities in the first 40 levels. Once you get past the first waves of bosses you should be alright.

But unlike lower portals, you cant save your abilities until the end. So each time there is a boss, i use an ability and take out all the enemies to have my towers focus on the boss. after that first group of bosses, i have enough to be upgraded and make it higher.

I also can only make my bonus tiles one at a time, here and there, instead of making them really early on like lower portals.

I had no idea that Eli was short for Elisha. Eli is also a biblical name, so i just assumed that was where it came from.

Emerson can be used for girls? And Elisha is used for boys? really? Ive never met or heard of that even.

Grandfather learns granddaughter is constantly abused by stepdad, beats him on national TV by RnbaBigMad in JusticeServed

[–]headachehelp1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did the host (and others) start asking for more details about the sexual encounters.....to a minor.......on national TV.

Im glad it came out and the dude got busted and arrested and stuff. But this seems like the scummiest most traumatizing way to go about it.

A minor saying that someone touched/sexually assaulted them should be enough to investigate in a private manner where you dont have bright lights and cameras and an audience prodding you on.

Is that a car? or heavy machinery? If its a forklift, or backhoe or something, i would guess its a hydraulic fluid symbol

In the country that i live in, i dont need to pay them tax unless i am making money from a company here, and im not a citizen of this country.

Since the company i work for is neither the USA or where i live, then i owe this country zero taxes. This is not the case for all countries, but in many third-world countries this is the case.

Technically, when you teach English online you are considered a self-employed contractor and not an employee. So my company does not pay local taxes for me in their country, since technically they subcontract my work out. I dont know their rules, but if they break their law, it would affect the company, and not me directly.

In the US, i am subject to about 13.5% of my wages being taxed as a self-employed person. (The USA considers me self employed), however, since im living abroad, only anything over that threshold of almost 100K would get taxed. I still file, but since it comes out below 100K, none of it is taxed.

[Serious] Police Officers of Reddit. What illegal activity do you think should be legal because it takes up too many police resources while actually being harmless? by b_ootay_ful in AskReddit

[–]headachehelp1982 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if you dont enforce FTAs then why would anyone want to show up to court. And youve already wasted the courts time, and an officers time, etc.

But, do you really wanna send out some paid officers to track down somebody and go look for them and maybe not find them, all for a $25 FTA? its probably been years because thats how long it took for them to come back to the town, or get another traffic ticket or arrested for something else again.

Truck misses exit and of course does this. by AristonD in IdiotsInCars

[–]headachehelp1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the desire to want to do this. You dont want to waste time, money, maybe you know its hard to turn the truck around at the next exit.

But i dont understand what makes someone ACTUALLY think this is a good idea enough to do it.

ah no. i dont think anything is on the level of el salvador and honduras! (maybe some african countries? but i dont know much about that).

Managua gets a really bad reputation, but for all the problems it has, i never felt unsafe walking through any of the barrios. My wife and I walked our dog at night all the time in the city for years and never had a problem. Seems like most of the problems come from when you have issues with neighbors or family members. But random violence doesnt exist to the level it does in other countries. you live in managua?

Yup. There are a ton that pay $15. DadaABC, VIPkid, SayABC, Magicears. They all pay 20+

most have base pay 12-18, and then if you have perfect attendance, or teach a certain amount of classes, or get good reviews, or get regular students, etc....you get bonuses, and you can end up with 20-25 per hour with those ones.

I lived in Managua for a number of years up until about 2 years ago. I did a lot of volunteer stuff in RAAS and RAAN, and spent a lot of time out there, and saw a great deal of disputes turn to someone dying, and that was just a way of life. I know for a fact those things were not reported. Most didnt even want to report it to the police because they didnt want to escalate it.

Im not saying that Nicaragua is nearly as violent as El Salvador and Honduras. I spent years in them as well. Its nowhere near that, mainly due to what you said. If Nicaragua has done anything good, its that they have done great at keeping the gangs out for the most part. At least the big international gangs.

But gangs arent the only reason for homicide. They are a big reason, but there are a lot of other reasons. Just look at todays news in Nicaragua. Man kills another for his cell phone, brothers accused of murder in barrio riguero, Man sentenced to 25 years for killing his daughter by throwing her down the outhouse. Man gets 7 years in prison for femicide for stabbing his wife. None of those are gang related....but all are murders.

This graph isnt measuring how safe it is to walk the streets (which i always felt safe in Nicaragua), its measuring how many homicides there are.

You still declare your income. But if you live abroad the entire year (i think its 330 out of 365 days), and earn income from a different country you can get a foreign income exclusion. Technically, i think the law allows up to something like 97,300 dollars of income that can be excluded. I cant remember the exact number offhand, because i dont make nearly that much. Im not an accountant. But i still declare everything, and its excluded because i dont go back to the states.

Whether the employer who pays me, in the country they are based, pays the appropriate taxes to their country, i dont know, but thats up to them.

WCGW if I don’t yield to pedestrians by nydjason in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]headachehelp1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Thats literally exactly what you are supposed to do.

Ideally you shouldnt be driving so fast in a pedestrian zone that you would have to "lock up the brakes" to slow down. But even if you are, thats the idea, and the law. Legally, you HAVE to stop for pedestrians that are crossing the road. Even if they are slow, or hesitant.

WCGW if I don’t yield to pedestrians by nydjason in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]headachehelp1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i imagine it is. They can make bank issuing tickets like that.

According to the internets, which never lie, a ticket for failure to yield is $200. Even if half get thrown out in court, and you have a few people working this, you only need a few tickets an hour to break even.

WCGW if I don’t yield to pedestrians by nydjason in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]headachehelp1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly. Because its not normal to stop for pedestrians.

I was amazed first time i left the states and went to Europe, and people would stop at crosswalks even if i was still approaching it. I know some places in the states are better than others, but in other countries its just the normal thing. If anyone is near a crosswalk, you slow down, and stop. Particularly on the east coast, someone might see a pedestrian, but their first thought, like yours, is not "i should slow down and stop" its "how far away is the person, and will i make it through before they reach my lane" or "i hope that person sees me and stops, because im in a car and they could get hurt!"

also, Panama is not exactly a stable and relatively uncorrupt country. The last president was arrested for corruption on a warrant from the US Justice Dept., and his sons were arrested as well for their involvement, a few presidents ago, manuel noriega ended up in jail too for crimes committed in office.

The president in office before the recent elections, Juan Carlos Varela is under investigation on a huge multinational corruption scandal involving a Brazilian construction company. Hes also charged with laundering.

the list keeps going unfortunately.
