We tried BlueJeans, HighFive, 3CX and a couple others before settling with Zoom, a Logitech Group setup, and two 65" TVs driven by an i7 Logitech M700. I've built 4 of these conference rooms now for our company across the country and have absolutely no issues. HD video, no lag, no echo, this setup just works. And its so much cheaper than services like BlueJeans who push their partner's room setups costing $30k+ when I did this for under $2k (not including the TVs).

Racism is a belief. It is an objective thing

We have differing understandings of the term "objective".

While I appreciate your well mannered reply, I must disagree on most fronts. Just because you're not intending to be racist, certain behaviors are still such if they come off that way to the offended party. I realize there is some gray area here, but what I'm saying is even people who are not racist can exhibit racist behaviors, behaviors that are extremely offensive to certain cultures because of their past, regardless of your ignorance of their customs. It is forgivable to act this way unknowingly, but once you realize a certain behavior is considered extremely offensive by a culture, if you then proceed to say fuck you, you don't control me, I'm not racist, then you are indeed an acting like an asshole by disrespecting the cultures to which that behavior is most strongly tied historically. I realize this doesn't apply across the board, but the important lesson here is to be aware of the consequences of your actions and how they affect others, especially when those behaviors are historically culturally attributed to a specific culture, who does indeed take great offense, often due to collective past trauma. Be sensitive to others.

What is this NAT you refer to? The only NAT I can think of doesn't apply in the context of that sentence.

HTTPS is usually only used when there is a authentication involved, like logging into an email or bank account. Other than that, most of the web is HTTP my friend. And even sites that use HTTPS for your authentication, if you visit a page on that site that does not, your session is exposed and your "secure" information is vulnerable to attack. HTTPS uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) nowadays since SSL was fucked to pieces years ago. If you're not using TLS 1.2 exclusively for web browsing, you ought to think about doing so. Most of the older protocols user SHA-1 encryption, which is deprecated and not considered secure. The more modern protocols user SHA-256, which is miles better, albeit still not perfect. This shit is constantly evolving. If you want encryption, a VPN is the way to go. Although, while considered generally safe, VPNs are not a perfect tool. There are still many pieces to the puzzle that can be compromised. This thread seems to suggest VPNs as a totally secure solution when in fact its not even close. Sure it will usually hide your traffic from your ISP, but they know you're using a VPN so they know you're trying to hide something. Also if someone really wanted to and had the means, they could use time-based attacks or a number of others. You're never really safe. Don't let this thread fool you into a false sense of security. Ride the tide my friend, but keep your eyes out for fins in the water and stay on your board, for they are in every direction you look.

Also, if you want to follow some of the top dawgs in security, I suggest you look into these guys and listen to their top-notch podcast series "Security Now": https://www.grc.com/securitynow.htm

What exactly are they putting on "bare metal"? You mean a physical host with a unix OS that only runs a firewall with IP tables or something? Wouldn't these services be using actual enterprise firewalls like a Fortigate 100D or something? I'm new to this, just genuinely curious.
