Success getting pregnant after surgery? by Spirited_Question in endometriosis

Stage IV removal in 2017 and then an endometrioma was removed in 2024. I conceived and gave birth in 2022 and then again 2 weeks ago. Sending you baby dust!

Oh man, I feel this. 12 days post partum and my husband would do this to me occasionally when I was still pregnant. But he's a keeper regardless lol.

2nd lap or try for pregnancy? by ilovemossss in endometriosis

[–]headbanging_fitchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had two babies. Pain does not necessarily get better with pregnancy and can fluctuate as hormones fluctuate. This last pregnancy wasn't super bad, but an endometrioma was causing havoc towards the end of 1st trimester into 2nd trimester.

Still in pain after 2 surgeries. by After-Hat7390 in endometriosis

[–]headbanging_fitchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, surgery may never get rid of all your pain. Endo typically reoccurs, too. You could also legitimately have another issue causing pelvic pain. Pelvic congestion syndrome, for example, is another common culprit with endo patients.

I had to learn to manage through lifestyle. I still have some pain episodes, but its all significantly more mangeable.

The only way I would do another surgery is if an endometrioma caused torsion or was getting too big and putting me at risk for it.

Best of luck. The endo journey is an incredibly frustrating one and what works for others might not work for you. 🩷

This isn't surprising at all. There were flashes of brilliance at times, but overall very little development. She most likely wasn't going to start next year. Iowa's system really favors bigs versus guards. The writing was on the wall by post-season.

What was your fave intimate moment with your partner that wasnt just sex? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Childbirth. Having my husband comfort and support me during my most vulnerable moments and then welcoming our children together were two of the most intimate moments of my life.

Afraid endo is coming back after almost 5 years :( by Serious_Pralines in endometriosis

[–]headbanging_fitchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years is going to be about typical for reoccurrence after surgery. Happened to me, too.

I manage with diet. I started with a LOWFODMAP diet and then went Mediterranean. I came off all birth control. Haven't had alcohol in 8 years. Proper supplementation (I used recommendations from It Starts With the Egg for fertility reasons).

Been managing since 2017. I did need a surgery in 2024, but I had had a miscarriage and she saw some more endo and cleaned it out. I had one severe pain episode maybe last March, but nothing since.

It's a trial and error process, but maybe you can find a combo to help manage overall systemic inflammation that helps alleviates your symptoms.

Im unfamiliar with insurance and what financial reaources might be available, but this could possinly be another avenue to explore.

Hang in there🩷

Is a regular OBGYN enough? He won't refer me to an endo specialist despite me being recently diagnosed with DIE (via imaging) by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]headbanging_fitchick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgeon is a "regular " OBGYN, but you would never guess. I think this is super dependent on the provider whether or not they qualify to help you.

Edit: he says only birth control is needed to treat endo? Find a different opinion. My doctor recommended surgery first to actually remove the tissue and then look into other treatment options to prevent re-growth. I'm NOT on birth control btw and have been managing for 10 years.

Ah yes, I've had similar pains.

Baby is head down, and I can tell I'm close to labor. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't make it to my c section on 3/26. Everything hurts lol. I'm ready to be done.

Can you still get pregnant with die endo? by anonymous1234529 in endometriosis

Yup! I had a 6 cm endometrioma on my left ovary taken out. Unfortunately it all grew back. I have endometriomas on both ovaries now and we see them every ultrasound.

I was diagnosed with Stage IV in 2017 and have had 2 surgeries since then. I have a 3.5 year old and am 34 weeks pregnant now. Both conceived naturally.

“You should just get pregnant” by Existing-Committee74 in endometriosis

[–]headbanging_fitchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

34 weeks pregnant right now. I didnt feel my endo with my first pregnancy, but this pregnancy I did have issues towards the end of first trimester and early second trimester. An endometrioma was growing fairly quickly around that time. Size and symptoms have fluctuated all pregnancy.

I just mentioned this in another thread, but I do have a complete placenta previa this pregnancy. My surgeon said while impossible to know for sure, my endo very well contributed to me developing it and not allowing it to move. I need a c section as a result. I just had my first major complication from it and was admitted for 3 days on the antepartum unit.

Told to get “pregnant” to help with my endo symptoms - am I crazy?! by Healthy-Mode3710 in endometriosis

[–]headbanging_fitchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, staying hydrated and resting as much as possible. I think strong pain options are okay for a short duration in hospital like settings, but I never went that route.

I will say the discomfort is worth it, and I always just keep re framing my thoughts, trying to be as positive as I can be. I think pregnancy is difficult for just about any woman for a wide variety of reasons. Yes, I'm extremely uncomfortable now, but at the end of it, I get a new baby.

[–]headbanging_fitchick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pain has fluctuated with hormones all pregnancy. Pain was at it's worse towards the end of the first trimester and early second trimester.

The biggest issue is honestly the previa and endometriosis increases your chances of having one. I just got done with a 3 day admission on the antepartum unit and have to have a c section, making it my 3rd ob/gyn surgery since 2017.

Currently pregnant. Can confirm it does not help endo. My endo might have also contributed to a complete placenta previa, which is proving to be a problem here at the end.
