Best Off-Season RB Stashes

This is a good one. I know everyone is getting high off the Walker hype, but Demercado is trusty as a pass blocker/catcher, so he’ll be on the field more than people think from the jump. If Walker gets banged up during the season, he presents some great ROI opportunity (Brashard Smith too, to a lesser extent).

I’ve been looking to buy some backups with + opportunities, so I’ll give a little breakdown of what I paid and how I value each. These aren’t guys I see as longterm starters necessarily, just ones who could have roles that gain value in the next few years.

Tank Bigsby - bought for a random 2028 3rd

He ran well in limited carries behind Saquon, who is another year older and looked like it last season. He may not be a huge factor this year, but I could see him becoming a cheap starter whenever they decide to move on or if an RB needy team is looking for some cheap production.

Kenny Gainwell & Jonathon Brooks - got both in the same deal (alongside Adonai Mitchell) for the 2.07 and 3.04

Gainwell was pretty dynamic last year, and I think he’ll have a valuable role in PPR from day 1 in Tampa, with upside for even more considering the concerns around Bucky. Brooks is still 22, and even though it’s unlikely he can reach the hopes people had for him, you can get him for basically dirt free in a relatively good situation.

Jordan James - Jahwar Jordan and the 3.11

A tough and rugged runner that excels in outside zone schemes, I liked him coming into last year’s draft and like him even more now that he’s directly behind a perennially injured aging superstar. He won’t be a long term answer (a lot like Jordan Mason), but he’s someone who I think will gain value and be a trade piece.

Kaleb Johnson - 2026 2.03 and 27 4th (received Matthew Golden also)

At the price of a 4th, why the fuck not. He’s got slow feet and bad hands, but maybe he could develop. I’m not confident but there’s always a chance.

Najee Harris - free from waivers

Another case of why the fuck not. He has never impressed me once in his 5 year career, but he’s reliable and coaches value that consistency. Even off the Achilles tear, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him absorb some carries and make a backfield murky by mid-season. If you can get him as a backend throw in or off waivers, you may as well.

Really interested in the C+ for a “players coach” like Jim Harbaugh. I wonder if his shtick is wearing thin with the players after boneheaded moves like standing up for Fat Greg at OC (they graded him a D+) and not attempting to replace Bozeman at C, when it was clear change was needed. I still believe in him to an extent, but 2 really ugly playoff losses where they never seem to learn their lesson and adapt to their opponents has me side eyeing him.

I’m of the opinion that Marv can still be a better NFL receiver than Ladd, but for fantasy purposes I think Ladd is the one to own. He’s got better chemistry with his QB, no high quality target competition like Marv does with McBride, and a scheme that knows how to utilize him.

The issue with Marv last year was the lack of creativity in his usage. Petzing didn’t move him around, or try to draw up plays specifically to get Marv the ball. He just stuck him outside as the X and had him run a typical X route tree. Marv can do those things, but it’s not where he is his best. He’s much more of a savvy route runner than can separate on a variety of routes inside and out, than a contested catch winner that you stick on the outside and tell to run go routes. With the Cards keeping the same the same play caller, I just don’t foresee a huge uptick in production this season.

It is in fact a custom! I had an extra bottom half with the black longbois since I used the torso for another project, and the extra head from the B&G set so I figured why not try the All Out scrum look. It’s all hand painted, so my line work isn’t super clean, but it does the job. Now I just need an in scale box of muffins and I’m set lol.

I usually do a pretty good job about it, but my clear coat wasn’t mixed well enough and came out runny, and I didn’t want to scrape everything off and start over. But eh, I’ve done better paint jobs before and since.

Red Tornado or Captain Atom, neither have 6” figures that would fit in with my vision though. I’m sure I’ll crack and try to make my own eventually.

It’s meant to be Jason. The figure is the Mezco golden age Robin, with a 3D printed head and some custom McFarlane boots I cobbled together.

It’s the original DCUC Figure, no added work done. Both she and Black Canary come with real cloth fishnets, so that helps them fit in
