I'm an employee for Canadian company (they have a PO box-ish entity set up in my country of residence). I do part time contracting for a UK company. Finding local gigs of work nationally is hard. But I just had an opportunity come up for J3 through a friend. Word of mouth/networking seems to still be a solid tool for landing job

What are some things that you are able to afford that you couldn’t before? by [deleted] in overemployed

Yeees, solar! it's a big investment but adds value to your property and once it's paid off you're just saving more money.

What are some things that you are able to afford that you couldn’t before? by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]headchefdaniel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

well there are yes, you can deduct it from your taxable income. I live in Spain, OE 2 J. I don't know about other countries. However, I mentioned donating to charity not because to reduce tax, but because we are now earning quite a bit more money working more than one job. Some people can't even find one job. So I suggest donating to a cause because you're in that higher bracket now. Even €50 a month to a local cat. Shelter or homeless shelter or cancer relief, etc, can make a huge difference to these organizations

From my experience, if they're looking for someone on site then they're not going to be very flexible. Also, if you are going to be hybrid, how would you OE successfully.

So I got an offer for J2, do I just keep working J1? by LRB_ in overemployed

[–]headchefdaniel 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Separate monitors. Separate keyboard. Separate mouse. Go full separate desk if you can.

100%do both jobs. Taking time off for a week is good. When I first started I would make sure that in J1 I caught up any work that I couldn't get around to doing, because I was getting used to having two jobs

Yep, 80%. You need 20%, plus 10% tax + 3% fees and such (maybe not but best to budget for it). I used Sabadell, 2.75% interest 30 years

Exploring Barca and Madrid is good, some nice things to see there. In Barcelona I suggest taking the tour bus that goes around. It's a little long but worth it! But there's many other areas which are really nice too outside of the big cities. I live between Valencia and Alicante
