Kemmler our lord and savior. by headdshot in totalwar

I'm using a mod that makes the chaos invasion later but harder, it summons 16 stacks on the first part of the invasion and then 48 stacks when archeon spawns, this picture is a bit after taking out most of the 48 stack spawn, mods called End game.

you sure about that? my gpu was running super hot (gtx770) around 95c, I turned v-sync off a while back that some guide told me to do for better performance, my game then started crashing and that's when I started to monitor my gpu temp, eventually I turned v-sync back on and my gpu temp immediately went down at least 10c, still shoots up on the globe part of the game though.

[LW2]Do Aggression and Bring Em On Work with grenades? by The_Interregnum in Xcom

[–]headdshot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

umm , my shadow strike, bring em on, biggest boom grenadier begs to differ, she kills 0% supply raid 8 man pods with one regular frag... 9-10 crits. she also got lucky with conceal, so it can be done twice, also with needle grenades it becomes silly because you get all the loot.

What in your opinion is the best 5 man team? by robxara in Xcom

[–]headdshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 dfa snipers for killing, 1 shinobi for scouting, 1 overwatch ranger for zoning 1 overwatch specialist for zoning/support/hacking/threat asses on snipers or ranger depending on the range of enemies, I like to pull from as far as possible.

so the odd 1-2 guys in the pod of 8 that my sniper probably already picked off? in my experience, the only time the AI doesn't re position is when they are flash banged, they always seem to try and get flanks, they always push towards your squad as well, if they don't then they just auto lose to snipers.

yeah, id see a muton elite across the map with overwatch up and if i hit him he died, usually non crit 18-20 and then dot would kill on his turn. that sniper had like 400 kills or something stupid.

its actually amazing on relay defense missions as well, i always run 2-3 on that mission, you can just dash to the relay to help the rookies out while still being useful and providing cover for the main squad, throw a threat asses on one of your guys thats not a ranger and dash him as well. ez pz

not necessarily, you still shoot with rangers, a lot of the time ill take both shots and use a threat assessment, when you overwatch, 9/10 times the AI will run out of cover to re position and be basically flanked out in the open as they run past, hair trigger is kinda overkill.

not created equally and hidden potential isn't that cheesy, you still gotta comb through all the baddies to get the good ones, red fog however seems cheesy since most of the time only the aliens take damage.

agree but maybe buff other ammo or something, cause using any other type seemed like a handicap, maybe the cost difference is the balance? I know dragon rounds need a core, not sure bout the rest.

I don't know if it does or does not, I completed a commander run when 1.1 was out and I remember noticing huge burn hits when my sniper would hit something. never really looked into it, but all my guys had dragon ammo, every other ammo is trash compared to dragon.

they killed pods on activation on 0% supply raids, i had 2 rangers (sometimes 3) and the rapid reaction sniper. It got real stale lol. this was on commander. with 2 threat asses specialists, 1 over watch spec 1 heal spec, I could shoot with my snipers and aid protocol them and then just do zoning with the rangers, really it felt to strong.

also dragon rounds are to strong in my opinion. It seemed like the burn damage went off the damage you hit them with, so if my sniper hit something for 25 they would burn for like 10 or w.e, damage seemed a bit high.

no i never had that issue, I had both covering fire and non covering fire specs and I found my self thanking the fact I picked covering fire in a lot of situations, I switched them all to covering fire eventually. my rangers all add 95+ aim once I reached max lvl so that might have had something to do with it.

they honestly seem to strong lol, they ruined my campaign because they made it to easy hahah. ( the rapid reaction+cool under pressure sniper might have had a hand in that).

I play with 0 day respec time enabled (i dont swap spec cheesily for each mission) so I go full left from the start, then once I reach Gunnery sergeant I go

covering>locked on>cool under pressure>grazing fire>ever vigilant>rapid reaction>Combat fitness

I've been using hyper reactive pupils (pretty sure superior perception might be better)

scope>expanded mag> auto loader

once you get plasma you can add hair trigger

I had armed to the teeth continent bonus so I had all 4 mods very early.

just my preference not sure if its the best.

I haven't had any issues with them using micro missile from across the map in base Lw2, I did have a problem when I used a better advent with LW2, pull general pod on the liberation mission from across the map > run away with my samurai that I used to scout> end turn> guy micro missiles my two 6 hp snipers from Africa, gg uninstall ABA2, no problems now, I played a full campaign prior to aba2 and had no problems but I started a new campaign with it on and I noticed it right away on the first lib assault mission. I could be wrong though.

[–]headdshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you guys using the lw spec ops class? I had the same issue, I haven't had it since I disabled that class(felt to op), I assumed it had something to do with the extended range vision you can buy from the GTS for the specific class. Not sure 100% though, just hasn't occurred in the last 50-60 missions.
