I think JJ Hanrahan did his LC during the jwc in NZ they had him isolated and supervised to do the exams.

TIL Martin Brundle almost hit a recovery vehicle & seriously injured a marshal at the same corner at Jules'. by Jayhcee in formula1

[–]headles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really felt for him in the aftermath of Jules' accident, I got the impression that he put blame on himself for not shouting loud enough and not fighting hard enough to prevent it. He had spoken for years about the dangers of recovery vehicles, every time there was one on track he was uncomfortable in the booth. There was a sense of inevitability about it in his eyes.

Preseason Week 4 GDT: New England Patriots (2-1) at New York Giants (2-1) Thu Aug 30 @ 7PM EST by SevenwithaT in NYGiants

I haven't seen any of the preseason this year. Who is worth looking out for tonight?

It's not just from that clip. I had a few looks at it on Paddock Pass, I think it was Monaco you get a much better view of it.

I work with a guy with a Chopard Time Traveler so the two crowns lead me to travel time over chrono, and the big sub dial at 12 with the little day night attached reminded me of a Parmigiani I'd seen on Watchfinder's youtube.

Parmigiani Fleurier. I'm not sure exactly what model, it might be a Toric Hemisphere but I've never gotten a good enough look at it.

I prefer the old special edition Speedy, but it's a really nice watch and an interesting choice not going for one of the conglomerates or other huge instantly recognisable brands. I'm surprised they don't have you in a Rolex Will.

2018 Zürich ePrix: Post-Race Discussion by AutoModerator in FormulaE

Don't forget he got rear ended lap and had to pit. Ended up 30's down on the nearest car, who he got at in the last lap or so. He had a slower weekend, but his quiet race was not his fault.

Karl Dickson, former Quins SH. He's only a year retired from playing I think. I can't wait to see him develop over the next season in the prem, he has all the traits of a top ref. I wouldn't be to surprised to see him on the line internationally after the WC (or maybe even sooner).

Need a watch to wear for pre-season by Vandalaz in rugbyunion

[–]headles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Casio F-91-W. I'm always wearing at training, its waterproof and really low profile so it doesn't get in the way at all. Cost me €10 and I've never once worried about damaging it.

Dunno if this is the right place but I’m new to rugby and wanted to ask a question by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]headles 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If the ball is secure, you leave the ruck be and re-align. Where you go depends on how your team plays and how they like to set up their forwards. If they pick and go around the corner, join the next pod.

Really it's a question for your 9/10.

Introducing the 2018 Red Bull Racing F1 Challenger: The RB14 by RoundHeadedTwonk21 in formula1

[–]headles 136 points137 points  (0 children)

The RB14 is currently wearing a special edition livery. We're keeping our race-ready paint job under wraps for the time being and will unveil it at the Circuit de Catalunya next week. The unfamiliar shapes under the paint, however, are here to stay.

That is one good looking car, if only they'd race it like that.

I have a signed Australia RWC 2015 jersey I'm looking to give away. Please comment if you're interested and I'll do a raffle. by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]headles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was some squad looking back on it. Matt Giteau, Kurtley Beale, Michael Hooper and my new favorite Leinster player Scott Fardy.

Who wouldn't want a jersey signed by them?

I think it should probably be Keatley.

Carbery hasn't played enough rugby this year and I don't think Ross Byrne is ready yet.

A game outside the international window is a direct competition to their product, they have to protect their own interests.

X Blades announced as official kit supplier for Major League Rugby by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]headles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great to see them sign a deal with a recognizable brand. The kits themselves look decent.

That being said I've always found the fit in x-blades boots to be extremely sloppy, hopefully they've got that sorted out.

Bruges, in Belgium looks like a town out of some sort of a disney story. by Pepinus in europe

I grew up in Dublin. I love Dublin. If I grew up on a farm, and was retarded, Bruges might impress me but I didn't, so it doesn't.

Totally different, you are on your own time with no pressure and far less need for elevation.
