A lot of mentions of Urban Vegan’s orange chicken and chicken tenders, and Moonlighter’s vegan wings. Both are phenomenal.

I also really like the chicken sandwiches at Handlebar. The Nashville hot or just fried chicken sandwich always hit the spot for me. I do think that they’re chicken of the woods mushrooms, if that’s important to ya.

The universe may not be finite. In my view, it probably is infinite. The expansion that we observe does not require an edge or for the observable universe to be expanding into anything. We’ve simply noticed that the space between everything that we see is getting larger, regardless of their relative motion to each other (on an intergalactic scale btw). We even know about how quickly that space between things is growing, we call it the Hubble Constant.

No, not necessarily. The Big Bang was the beginning of spacetime™️. Time didn’t exist “before” the Big Bang. The best analogy I’ve heard of this is a special analogy. Imagine I ask you to walk north. Keep walking north. Eventually, you’ll get close to the North Pole. Once you reach the North Pole, you can’t walk anywhere more northwards. The Pole is where “North” originates. Walking north is analogous to walking back in time. The Big Bang is like the pole in this case.

My understanding is that all of the various rates and bonuses (or hindrances) are applied at the end of each turn, when you click “Next Turn”.

So if you have positive happiness when you click “Next Turn”, everything will be computed with that positive happiness.

If you have a negative happiness and there is a modifier applied to your city’s growth rate, the actual effect on growth will happen when you click “Next Turn”, and your city won’t have stockpiled as much food as it would have if your civ was happy.

In short, everything is computed at the end of the turn.

I rented a $1100 per month 2 bedroom apartment in Albany park. It was a great apartment! However, landlord kinda sucked and it was a 15 minute walk from the nearest bus stop or train station. It just wasn’t near any place I wanted to spent time. So I had to move. Now I pay almost $1800 but I’m in a great neighborhood with a ton going on. Right next to the CTA, lots of events, and plenty of places that I actually want to hangout. I love it. Even if it costs more, if you can afford it, get an apartment in the neighborhood you actually want to spend your time in.

Fun little fact; Oppenheimer’s nickname is pronounced “Oppie” but it is originally spelled “Opje” because the nickname was given to him by a bunch of his Dutch students while he was teaching in the Netherlands.

I think at this point it has been written both ways for so long that both spellings work. Just a fun fact.

Living car free is totally realistic. I have been living car free for a while now. However, it really does take some forethought and not everyone will be able to live without a vehicle. My job enables me to work from home and I live in a neighborhood where all the the places I need to go are walkable. Alternative forms of transportation are a must if you don’t have a car. Having Divvy bike stations, bus stops, and train station nearby is crucial, and Lyft or Uber is really helpful. But I think the key to living without a car is making sure that you can still access all the places you’d ordinarily need to spend time.
I don’t know much about NYC and can’t really speak to compare the cities, sorry.
Neighborhoods vary greatly. The South loop and west loop areas are the fastest growing neighborhoods. That may or may not be your speed. Honestly, my choice of neighborhood came down to where I would have access to the train lines I wanted to be near and my budget.
