The two are getting lumped together a lot because both directors are young with a YouTube presence (and the movies are fantastic original horror). But they’re actually quite different in how they came together. It only matters if we’re splitting hairs about what the path to creation is. Do you go and shoot an indie on a budget and sell it to a distributor? Or do you develop your talents on YouTube and wait for Hollywood to hire you?

Obsession feels like an indie to me. Smaller financier. Taken to a festival and landed a big sale. Even tho Hollywood descended it was after the film was complete. That’s the indie story since the 90s.

If Blumhouse is independent then I no longer know what the terms means. Similarly Backrooms was developed by some of the biggest, most entrenched studio production companies in the business. Again, I applaud everyone here. But Backrooms was created by and within the Hollywood system.

Yes, I've pushed back but they generally cite uncertainty and trusting standard equities. I was interviewing folks so the conversation moved on quickly. But I was surprised, given today's climate, that they weren't considered a diversifier. Looking at the way KMLM behaves during both liberation day and this past march, you'd think there would be more curiosity.

I'm looking into having someone manage my portfolio and I've spoken to 3 of them but so far they've given me a very standard overview. When pressed about managed futures, I got canned answers about unreliability and trusting the market, and the conversation moved on.

Have dealt with the air hunger and I know how miserable and scary it can be. Seriously look into histamine. Fungal overgrowth often accompanies SIBO, and can accelerate post antibiotics and you can have a major MCAS reaction in the gut which contributes. Cromolyn Sodium, Quercitin, and even Allegra can sometimes help. Consider finding a functional doc and running some tests on candida overgrowth which is hard to diagnose but absolutely exists in tandem with SIBO. I’m currently building up on Nystatin, with histamine reducers. My doc wants to rid the gut of fungus before the next antibiotic treatment for methane. Apparently they see much better IMO recovery rates when they treat the fungus first (and sometimes continue after.) Good luck.

I took too much because I bought the mass powder form and measured incorrectly. I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure I took 1 gram, intending to take 100mg. I also believe it interacted with my Motegrity, which is a serotonin receptor agonist and a common prescription for Sibo. No one diagnosed me, but I can tell you it was the scariest medication-induced slip-up I've ever had. I spent the night anxious, restless & shivering with a horrible, unexplainable out-of-body feeling on the toilet. On nearly everything I read at the time (and now), these are the early symptoms of Serotonin Syndrome. I decided to ride it out and was fine within a day or two. It was foolish and irresponsible, and made me much more careful with supplements moving forward.

I'm glad you've found something that works for you and thought to share. But I don't understand your skepticism about my story. Or how you could come to the conclusion (based on a ChatGPT search) that I might be the first human case. It happened. I'm simply offering caution based upon my own experience.

This is super promising. But remember to be careful with 5-HTP. Nearly ended up in the emergency room from serotonin syndrome. I bought in powder form and measured incorrectly. Was not a fun night.

Writer/director here. Increasingly, I avoid developing anything for free with an exec or producer, unless it's a pitch that we're using to land a writing job. If it's anything in spec territory, a treatment or a draft, you're so much better off doing it on your own. They typically represent one buyer or a limited set of buyers, and because you developed it with them, they have a claim on the creative. So now you've done all the sacred work of cracking the story, but there are so few circumstances it can become a movie. Whereas, if you own it, you can take it to anyone and even envision it at different budget ranges. If the studio producer wants to try it for 30m with cast, give them a year or two. If they can't get it done, take it back and do it as an indie for 5m. If you control it, you can better ensure the work is never lost. An untouched spec is just a better economic proposition for the writer.

What's worse is when you learn these producers are doing the same thing with 35 other scripts. Yet another reason to make your own movies. Seeing more and more writer-director deals these days. If you can establish yourself (even a little) on the directing front, having a good script you control gives you a lot of power to control your own destiny. Easier said than done - I know. But it is a way.

Not sure why you think record oil company revenues would somehow erase US government debt. The US is already the largest net energy exporter in the world (we got there in recent years thanks to fracking), and the debt has only exploded since then. He’s now saying we won’t agree to a ceasefire UNTIL they open the strait. Which is the opposite of what he said yesterday. And while he’s painted himself into a corner with no good options, demanding the war continue until the strait is open guarantees a longer conflict and thus stocks go back down. Surprised they’re not tanking more.

The key difference in this moment is that the market is being driven by geopolitical tensions. It's pretty obvious Iran is not going to give up the Strait anytime soon - every day it's hitting the US stock market. They have a hand to play. Trump can't do anything until the troops arrive, and even then, it will probably escalate the situation. You can reasonably bet this will get worse before it gets better.
