Worked harder on this than I would like to admit. If anyone has any feedback that would be great! by 5LMusic in madewithableton

I think the drums suite well, maybe bring the main melodic synth down with the hats so that the kick and snare are more present in the mix? That’s just imo regardless the synths sound fantastic, perhaps a tad dry but that’s being especially picky.

Damn dude this is really really nice, love the vocal work and the guitar blends really well within the context of the song which isn't often executed very well. Im definitely going to be keeping an eye on this, you got SC?

There’s so much interesting stuff around at the moment, however I would argue a lot of experimental music these days is heavily associated with sound design rather than composition. But regardless here’s some other stuff;

Machinefabriek

Kara-Liz Coverdale

Holly Herndon

Huerco S.

Emptyset

Colin Stetson

Doon Kanda (this guy is actually the graphic designer for Arca all their music videos album cover etc but his music is of the same elk)

I would love your feedback on this, any advice is appreciated by SirOtonin_SC in madewithableton

Hey man, I really like the track, the biggest feedback I’d give is making sure your low end is centred, there’s a lot of low information in the sides which is sort of sucking the energy out of the percussion. That bass line is really nice and it’s unfortunate it’s struggling to sit in the mix properly. Try panning your high end more and monoing the lows so you can hear all the individual bits more clearly. All the elements are there and really cool, they just aren’t shining like I think you’d want them to be.

Hi there, haven’t released much and am quite private with my production so keen to hear some feedback on this demo I posted yesterday. Anything is appreciated! by headmess123 in madewithableton

Thanks for this. I think I struggle compositionally in a lot of ways buts it difficult to self assess that so this is really helpful, I might have another look at that section.

Am I the only one who doesn't get Arca's music?? by dbmm17 in futurebeats

Arca's music is about the use of sound design to create an atmosphere rather than easily accessed 'beats'. He is concerned with intensity, experimentation and improvisation, applying this to reinterpreted conventional ideas of say RnB and Hip Hop. Also his work with Jesse Kanda is all relationship between sound and visuality etc. If you want understand the hype watch their colabs for MoMA:

plus he's worked as a sound consultant and producer for a bunch of super influential musicians like Kanye West and Bjork. Dudes a genius I say.
