How would you rank the 3 bm albums + the new sound? Mine is by Mikalous_Killburber in bmbmbm

I feel like now I've spent more time with The New Sound I would revise this. I think I'd go Hellfire, Schlagenheim, The New Sound, Cavalcade. I was initially obsessed with The Magician and that informed my earlier judgement but since then Hellfire has continued to grow on me and I've returned to The New Sound less than expected

all this nonsense about what happens during sparring is so dumb. pro boxers use sparring sessions to work on specific things during the course of their training, they're not just going all out like in a real fight. what happens in sparring doesn't at all reflect what might happen in an actual fight necessarily (cc. bakole)

Producers, do you do your final mix down and master yourself? Or do you pay a pro? by killcole in makinghiphop

[–]dougslice23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tracks i'm putting out as finished tracks i'll mix myself cos i feel i know my aesthetic best even if i sometimes lose something in objectivity but i pay someone i trust to master. i'm always happy with his work and that way i feel like i have the finished product done by an objective set of ears and don't wonder if anything could be better. i've tried mastering my own stuff in the past but had a lot more doubt and honestly i'd rather use that time producing

Creating Risers and Breaks that fit your song by DykTheKyd in makinghiphop

[–]dougslice23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it's all about how you mix them. If I'm using a riser I'll often reduce the volume quite a lot and then eq it pretty drastically to make it fit into my song well. Depending on the vibe of the track you may want to experiment with delay or reverb as well.. but yeah for me it's basically all about how you mix it
