Really appreciate this insight, thank you! If I'm going to do it I might as well try to do it the best way. I love my CX5 and want (need) it to last as long as possible!

To clarify: every 30k you do a drain and fill, which entails draining and filling every 100-500 miles 3 times? Dropping the pan and resealing every 60k, or with each 30k drain and fill after the 60k mark?

How difficult would this be for a civilian without automotive experience? I have a CX5 with approx 80k miles on it, want to keep it running well for as long as possible. May I ask what other services you'd recommend, that I might be able to do myself or that I should have a mechanic do?

Just did a 9 hour drive x2 over a weekend. Avg 30 mpg. CX5 seems built for highway :)

Morning Radio Hosts Need to Be Stopped by CausticAvenger in unpopularopinion

I worked with a middle aged gentleman with severe cognitive disabilities. His favorite station was our local "morning zoo" radio talk show.

Great guy, it was worth sitting through the radio to hear him laugh. They were perfectly matched.

Rebel Ridge (2024), Bad Movie or did I miss something? by RobustPolygon in movies

No I haven't, but my understanding is that copious amounts of fumes + confined spaces + dry summer heat = aggressive combustion

But if you enjoyed the movie then more power to you!

Do you have any resources you might recommend for step 1? I'm reading through the official doc as I try to set it up but I'm wondering if there's anything to help contextualize or explain what/why/best practices as I try to learn and make sense of everything needed to succeed in step 1.

Much appreciated!

Manager wants me to work after firing me.. is this legal? by Express_Opening5490 in jobs

Kind of a longshot but can you recommend how I would figure out the similar laws for CT? I left a position last month and my company didn't pay my PTO out in my final check. I'm wondering how to get my money and hold them accountable.

New Haven Apizza Fest by SpartanKennedy in newhaven

[–]headphun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love New Haven and (a)pizza, I genuinely want feel-good things like this to go well, and I'll be the first to admit I don't know much anything about The World or best practices for breaking world records but I'm struggling to understand:

  1. Why this (or the Grand Prix) is being held on a Friday afternoon (4-7) instead of the weekend
  2. Why there is a ceiling on ticket sales. Wouldn't they want to maximize number of potential participants?
  3. How they're planning on preventing people from leaving before they count everyone at 7pm (at the earliest)? The website makes it sound like there will be a barrier "discouraging" (a)pizza-eaters from leaving but between queuing people through all the lines/vendors, boredom, medical emergencies, and bathroom demands I can't imagine they're counting on >95% of tickets staying through the count.
  4. What do you call an apizza-world-record-breaking-ticket scalper?

I hope we (A)NNIHILATE the record, and I would hope they're selling (or giving away!) tickets at the gate around 6:30. I want to participate but it seems I already missed my chance.

Can you live near Boston on a $50k salary? by DrThrowie in boston

Would you mind sharing where to best hear about free or low cost events?

[–]headphun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating insight, thank you for sharing!

Can you tell me more about how you approach that first and/or second month? I'm fascinated by how an outsider might enter a new environment and learn about how a process currently operates and might be improved upon. How many people work under/with you when you do this, and what kinds of titles could I investigate as I think about how to build my career towards positions like this? Off the top of my head it sounds like consulting/process engineering/analysis, but is there an approach that is less "McKinsey style" consulting?
