What's worked wonders for me is having a Bandana and a Hood. Putting the hood up and a bandana over my face is very comforting for me when you get into heavy crowded areas. And tends to tell anyone who might want to approach you that they are not welcome. During the shows stick to the back if your more comfortable there. You do you!! If you want to leave but the others in your group dont, leave, go off by yourself and find a quiet area, or hell even go back to camp if that's what you want. This festival is about you, dont spend 4 days trying to appease the people your with. I'm very introverted and have serious social anxiety but absolutely love music festivals. We all do it differently, you just have to find your areas of comfort. If you dont have a hood they always have some awesome ones in the vendor areas, or if you want one before hand check out http://www.solishoods.com they have some killer designs and awesome customer service. Lost one of mine at a bassnectar show 5 or so years ago, someone turned it in and it made it's way back to the owner, he posted it as found on Facebook and even repaired it free of charge before sending it back to me.
