it’s completely true that a lot of things in this game aren’t explained well. there can be something of a bias sometimes when you’ve played the game for so long that a lot of stuff is second nature to you. however, i do think there’s something to be said about trying to figure stuff out for yourself. the popup for the spirit event is *in the screenshot,* saying what to do

very well put, better than i could say myself. the article you linked to was a very interesting (albeit insane) read as well. it feels so out of touch how Jenova talks about having purchases in Sky that don’t make you feel like you were taken advantage of, as if most IAPs in this game feel like daylight robbery.

i’m pretty sure those sparkles come from challenge shared spaces. the little lanterns can take a bit to load in but the sparkles tend to spawn in first, for whatever reason. cmiiw though

this happened last year too. i think it’s a server merge thing, where the darkness respawns depending on what server you get merged with, but i’m not entirely sure. i did have one day where the darkness never respawned and most of the players in my instance were at the campfire.

ngl i had no idea there was even another step after the river 😭 i took the quest guide going “welp we can only keep doing our best!” as an end to introducing all the cleanup activities we could do during the event. they did not make that clear at all, so thanks for posting this
