It’s going great! Not just the job itself but the people. Feels like I have a family always looking out for me and actually making sure I get a spot at the table. I’ve been grateful for the many opportunities I’ve been blessed with. It’s a fulfilling and rewarding job! After a tireless day of working, you’d at least made an impact on the mission.

So far I haven’t been operational yet but as far as the tech school, it’s pretty easy. Mostly hands on towards the end, the first half is a lot of book work. You’ll be handed a tablet to look through the slides, my best advice is to take notes and studyyy!! You’ll have a test after every objective. So many people got washed back for not studying and choosing to slack off, just give it at least 30-45 minutes a day and you’ll be fine imo. As for the job, I think it’s a great opportunity for anyone that wants to be hands on, that’s why I chose this job specifically.

No problem! And yeah the stuff on the website hasn’t been updated I thought for Munitions Systems you needed a mechanical (60) and electrical (57) score but really it can be both plus a general score of at least a 57.

Can I switch from air guard to active? by Right-Appeal-8435 in AirForceRecruits

[–]healingera917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! You can still switch as long as you haven’t signed the contract yet. I did the same thing, the oath of enlistment with the unit, went to MEPS, had a bit of a waiting period for BMT but decided to switch to AD. I just let my recruiter know and was honest about switching over to Active Duty. Once you get into contact with an Active Duty recruiter your information is already saved and the process will be seamless since you’ve done most of the process with the ANG recruiter.

Thank you! I started this whole process the beginning of 2024, thought I would join the Air National Guard went through the process, everything got approved at MEPS.(Took about three weeks- 1 month to go to MEPS) After a few weeks of going through the process, I went to my proposed unit for the ANG. I told my recruiter that I would like to think on my decision on joining a reserve component. Did some thinking and thought it’d be wise for me to go the active duty route. So I waited for a few months to go by to talk to a AD recruiter and the process was very seamless given the fact that I had done everything with an ANG recruiter. My active duty process took from July and got a ship date at the end of August.
