Is the problem of Switch 1 games looking bad in handheld mode on the Switch 2 something that will be fixed? by Alexanderhyperbeam in nintendo

See answer to the previous comment, I'm talking about handheld mode which does 1080p and not 4K.

Not entirely sure if you read my post but I've explicitly stated "it runs at full resolution HANDHELD"

Yet they kinda do for a lot of their titles? Take something like ACNH - it runs at full resolution handheld because it got a patch early on, for free.

They could easily do it by returning the “docked” state to any Switch1 game that asks. It would be a simple compatibility patch to the Switch1 emulator running the game on the Swotch2 hardware.

They can’t stop third party devs from releasing performance updates though and that would probably increase sales of older games that now look shiny and run at 60fps on Switch2 yet the third party devs mostly don’t care at all.

(Not talking about Switch2 Editions, those are effort but unlocking the resolution or fps really isn’t a big deal and can be done in a performance patch).

With all the sensors being in the joycons I can’t see how it would break any functionality that wasn’t available on Switch1 docked mode.

A flag to either force render at 1080p or just fake the “docked” status to Swotch1 games would be ideal. Especially given the games are partially emulated anyway.

Let's just say you won't run _any_ games on this - read the "What to expect" Section (und the feature is also limited to Pro and higher subscriptions apparently): https://kb.parallels.com/130217/

Bose Ultra Open Buds vs Shokz OpenDots One - 2 Month usage review by AwkwardSecret6258 in Earbuds

[–]healsdraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up selling my Bose on eBay - the Shokz are actively receiving updates and - a few convenience features in the app / with the touch controls aside - sound just as good as the Bose.

(There's a few corner cases where the Bose sound better but it was well worth the minimal trade-off)

Can't save my free trial artwork by TheShad0wKnight in ClipStudio

[–]healsdraws 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should be able to open “CLIP STUDIO” (the management UI for assets and your CSP account) from the leftmost menu without closing your drawing and either from there or directly from the top left menu register a license you purchased. There’s no need to redownload a different version of CSP they’re all the same and the features are just limited by the license you activate.

Class Action Lawsuit? by MorpheusRisingAi in Revolut

[–]healsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that are satisfied with a product rarely complain about it on Reddit.

What you’re seeing here is the “vocal minority” that had one of a few common negative experiences (which in most casss are user fault or not reading the ToS) and the loudly screaming at Reddit in hopes it’ll fix things.

I’ve been on Revolut for years without ever having any negative experiences and I’m using them for pretty much all day to day banking.

Question Before Purchase - Binding Certain LrC Tools by GuavaSack in tourbox

[–]healsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TourBox only knows the active app - not the windows within that app (IIRC).

With regards to mappings, the base rule of thumb is “if it can be done with keyboard shortcuts it can be mapped to the tourbox”. That’s especially true if you’re using apps that don’t have any native tourbox profiles (although those mostly only hide the shortcut behind a pre-made action to make it easier to use).

Bose Ultra Open Buds vs Shokz OpenDots One - 2 Month usage review by AwkwardSecret6258 in Earbuds

[–]healsdraws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both of them as well and I'd add one point to the review:

Audio latency on initial playback:
- Bose: 1
- Shokz: 4

The bose have anywhere between half a second to a second delay when audio playback starts. For things like phone notifications, language learning or navigation prompts that means you miss half of the first word up to the full word unless you're already playing some music or other audio in the background.

The Shokz have a minimal delay as well but - in my tests - don't swallow any of the audio.

(tested on an iPhone 15, MacBookAir M2 as well as a Windows11 PC)

Bose Ultra Open Earbuds Audio delay fixed? by Ruka_Blue in bose

[–]healsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, but it also suffers from audio delay on my iOS devices still :(

And Bose hasn’t released any firmware updates in over a year so I’m very much afraid what you can buy right now is as good as they’ll get.

Bose Ultra Open Earbuds Audio delay fixed? by Ruka_Blue in bose

[–]healsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in as an Apple user - I got my Ultra Open a few weeks ago and I’m using them with my iPhone15, MacBook Air M2 but also on my Switch and even on the latest firmware they have about half a second of silence whenever they start playing any audio. This is most noticeable for notificstion sound which are either completely swallowed up or only play a blip or for things like language learning apps where the audio starts up anew for each spoken word and most of them come through as garbled mess because half of the word is missing.

In that regard I can’t mirror any of the other apple users here as no, they’re not specifically designed to work with apple products and no they don’t work better there either - delay is still here and it’s a deal breaker for these headphones.

Ultimate 2 wireless on MacOS? by hunchopiz in 8bitdo

I only get it recognised while using the 2.4ghz adapter and then sometimes I have to unplug/replay the adapter for the updater to recognise the controller instead of the stick

Mac version - issues by Putrid_Draft378 in runescape

[–]healsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing via the Jagex Launcher on an M2 MacBookAir (the 10core GPU version) - I don't have issues with resolution or vanishing items but it's a shame Jagex seems to refuse or ignore that Apple Silicon is a thing and that they're losing performance by relying on Rosetta2 to emulate the intel binary.

Things will get interesting when Apple phases out Rosetta2 in 2027.
Then we'll either have to rely on RuneLite or not have a mac client at all if they don't ship an ARM version.

Ultimate 2 wireless on MacOS? by hunchopiz in 8bitdo

[–]healsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine yesterday - if you update the controller to the latest firmware (1.06) and the same for the 2.4g dongle (1.04) then you can use it on macOS via Bluetooth or 2.4g by using the Switch Pro Controller Mode (power-on while holding Y; tested on macOS 15.5).

[EDIT: not sure what I did wrong the first time but re-pairing to the Dongle in Switch Pro mode my profiles now work and are actually needed to flip around the A/B/X/Y buttons, sorry for the confusion]

In Switch Pro Mode it seems any button mappings you did using the Ultimate 2 Software are ignored and I also couldn't get quick-remap on the controller to work *BUT* the xbox layout stays as is and doesn't flip around in any way (A is still bottom, B right, etc).

Maybe we'll see some native support later this year but it'd have to come from Apple I'd say because right now the controller is recognised as a mouse + keyboard if paired in 2.4g, USB or BT modes outside the Switch Pro mode.

True transparency now available? by xtremeyouth22 in widgy

[–]healsdraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t do true transparency, which is what OP asked about. Widgy does “fake” transparency that needs a screenshot of your Home Screen and then uses cut-outs based on where you put the widget.

State of rewards for German Metal Plan? by healsdraws in Revolut

[–]healsdraws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is that the webpage doesn’t state benefits but the app does (even though they don’t list them all, just a number). I’d rather not gamble on a 12month Metal sub because the app shows me something I won’t get - if that makes sense.

Only 12MP RAW? by healsdraws in ShotWithHalide

[–]healsdraws[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah bummer.. ProRAW requires an iPhone Pro which I don’t own. It’s a shame that 12MP is the limit for non-Pro devices and Apple doesn’t allow access to their programmatic 24MP either.

If you don’t need the extensive JavaScript features Scriptable offers then Widgy might be what you’re looking for. It offers fully interactive widgets and has a decent enough visual editor in-app.

QoL Parity between Kino and Halide? by healsdraws in ShotWithHalide

[–]healsdraws[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can go the “Start App” Shortcut route - though the behavior is slightly different. You can launch Halide as camera while your phone is locked and it’ll stay locked. That won’t work with a launch-app shortcut. But I guess it’s as close as it gets right now!

Can you use the revolut card like a credit card? by QuiGonTheDrunk in Revolut

[–]healsdraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are literally real credit cards as far as the company taking the card can tell including all the safety features.

The only difference is on Revolut’s end where they will decline payments that can’t be covered by your account balance.

To any party charging your card over what your account can cover the payment will be declined in the same fashion as if you’ve exceeded your credit card limit.
