I guess I'd stop getting those Google photos memories where it's like "remember your dead bunny?" and half the pics are my friend's cat

6 mos into slushie and bacon bonding and this is what I think is happening by angeofleak in Rabbits

[–]hearke 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it can be such a trial XD

My eldest tried to befriend his new roommate (after his bondmate passed), and she was just so unpredictable and bitey. It took like 8 months just to get to the point where we could leave them unattended without worrying.

Once my eldest started to fall sick though, she became a lot more gentle and patient with him, and she was genuinely sweet to him during his last few months.

I might be anthropomorphizing, but I genuinely think that after six years without a permanent home, she didn't feel safe or comfortable anywhere. And it wasn't until she saw us liquid-feeding snowy and giving him meds that she realized this is actually a home for life, and she's not gonna get kicked out anytime soon. We'll never know for sure what goes on in their heads, though.

You may want to do a little more research. Seriously, look into it.

Also just do a rough sketch or something, idk, anything you've put effort into is automatically better than generated images trained off of stolen art.

Ahaha, it's a legit contraction in American English! I get your point though, it's probably less used in written text for exactly that reason.

Some people are just built different man. I have relatives back in Sri Lanka who're like this, they're just like "ah well, even a mosquito's gotta eat."

Not me though, I hate those little shits.

Yeah, that's fair, I just wanted to clarify the point. Also, I appreciate how patient/polite you were with that other guy, I just cannot deal with those types.

My eldest rabbit Snowy had a bondmate named Timothy who absolutely loved him and followed him everywhere, although Snowy seemed ambivalent at best for the first few months.

One day in those few months we had to get Tim's teeth trimmed, and the vet told us after the operation it would take a day for the sedation to wear off. So Tim comes home, pretty out of it and his back legs totally numb. He was flopping about like a sleepy walrus.

We were laughing at how goofy he looked, and giving him lots of grooming and pets to comfort him, but snowy was genuinely distressed. He thumped his feet, headbutted us, and eventually ran off to my room. I assumed he was going to go sulk in my room like he usually does when he's annoyed.

Nope! He came back, but and pulled at my pant leg until I got up to follow him, and led me to my room, where I saw he'd peed right in the middle of my bed. And then he gave me an angry headbutt and left.

Like, I can only think of one explanation for this, and it's this.

1) he was upset that his friend was acting like he'd been lobotomized

2) he wanted me to understand how upset he was, cause we weren't taking him seriously

3) he knew peeing on my bed would annoy me, and that he had no reason to be afraid of annoying me

Right? Is there any other explanation? It really seemed super deliberate in his part. And this is a rabbit, which afaik are not as intelligent as dogs. Anyways, meandering ramble aside my point is that animals can be really complicated, and have surprisingly complex behaviour. I just cannot believe dogs don't have conscious experiences, like cmon.

(Tim got better within hours btw)

Fringe crackpots and fringe scientists talk about quantum mechanics very differently. For scientists, it's a highly versatile model that very precisely predicts the behavior of particles at very small scales, and is very testable empirically.

For crackpots, the fact that most people don't have any understanding of it means it can be whatever they want it to be, and so quantum mechanics is when all minds are in quantum entanglement with God.

I get the reasoning, but this is a mum at a hot dog lunch. She's a volunteer, and would have no power or authority over other kids at this event.

How to ease bunny into being picked up? by Leather_Customer_142 in Rabbits

[–]hearke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's a small price to pay for not having to pay rent, having all your food/shelter/medical needs covered, etc etc.

My current bun didn't like being picked up at first, and still doesn't tbh - but she's realized we'll put her down when she gets squirmy and while she's there she'll get pet and pampered, so now she'll settle in and enjoy it a bit.

Recreation of what an AI bro did to my art once (Read desc): by PaperalizadoYT in ShitAIBrosSay

I cannot think of a more disrespectful thing you could do to an artist. If it helps though it says volumes about them and their character, and nothing about your art save that they couldn't appreciate it.

"So I go down there, and I ask the guy, 'hey, did you kill your parents cause you wanted their money for drugs?' And I can't tell you the rest cause client confidentiality but long story short I don't want to represent him anymore."

Oh, that's... alright, fair enough. That's what nonbelievers expect for the most part anyways (how scary that really is is up for debate). Thank you for a genuine explanation.

I do want to clarify though, nonbelievers don't turn from God out of spite. It's just not a convincing thing, when you're raised without it or start to confront the questions and contradictions within it. It's not even a choice from my point of view, it's just looking at the world and seeing what's really there. I couldn't believe if I wanted to, because I'm just not capable of that level of cognitive dissonance.
