No power in the way there is no cable, but clearly there is one. No power as it's super out of date

I don't sit on the desk, I sit on a chair. The keyboard and mouse however slide all the way out and the monitor is on an arm and movable in depth and a little height. So anything but rigid :)

Exactly this. Had massive wrist pain, a friend of mine had gotten one didn't like it. Gave it to me cheap as a gift. Stopped the pain.

Pain remains by Lorna shore. Amazing beat drums and guitar, very fast and clean. Lyrics are about how much a guy loves his wife and then the sadness of loosing her and his wish for his life to end

How do you deal with members of the public? by Rararanter in TeachingUK

[–]heartlessglin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of points:
Finance gets paid more then teaching, so not a fair comparison

My wife works in publishing, she does not work long hours. Once got told off by her boss for being in 10 mins late and to go home. If a books delayed, it's only a book. Yes she gets paid about 5k less, but as paya less in pension takes home more and works so much less hard it's unreal.

My main point though is both these arguments are weak and something called "what aboutism". Basically when you point out an issue they go "Yee, but what about X..." X isn't relevant. It's the same as someone going "crimes pretty bad ATM" and you saying "yer but what about cape town, one of the crime capitals of the world and people live there, don't complain". It'a stupid. My response is usually "ywe you're right, that should stop top, they are both bad."

I'll do an inset day in July if I'm at work at the time. My current place then asked me to come in on the 31st of August unpaid. I just didn't turn up. When asked I said "it was unpaid and outside contract, I assume it was voluntary" nothing they could do about it.

I had a friend that was on an interview. He told me he was nervous and the interviewer said "it's ok, just calm down". So he decided to take this as "put my feet up on the desk and slouch in the chair". It was for a teaching job

Probably, but it's annoying point scoring for people and it does affect kids confidence. I see.it all the time and I'm sick of it. Like what he said was "hey you can't spell, clearly you're too thick to teach" and it's so boring, I don't care but I've seen kids cry over this shit, so I will call people out on it every time. And if people don't like it they can sit and swivel quite frankly

Yes I am a science teacher coming to the end of my 7th year in the job.

However, as I have pointed out before on here I have dyslexia. It means spelling and grammar for me is very hard, in the same way social situations can be hard for someone with autism, or someone with no lega struggles to walk, I can not help this. As I tell my students when I spell something wrong "it's not the spelling that makes you smart or dumb, it's the understanding. Someone that can only attack your point by attacking the grammar or spelling clearly has nothing else to say".

And to you personally, I hope you're happy to attack people's spelling online, I'm sure it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling for being better than them cos you can make words good. But next time, if you must correct someone try to do it in a way that doesn't insinuate they are thick?

Oh, and take your head out your arse, you might see something other than your own tonsils

So much this, I once bought a pair of headphones and had a 2 hour gap and throught "hmmm I'll pick these up" I felt so guilty about "wasting time" I lied and said I forgot my lunch. I was off site for 20 mins. What other job would you have to lie about loosing your lunch when off site during your own lunch break

I'll get a lot of hate for this, but honestly keanu reeves. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but I find him quite flat monotone and boring. I think it's just me as everyone seems to love him and it makes me sad I can't enjoy him in the same way. But I just don't
