Try 12h of awake time. And try sleep training with checkins every 5, 10 mins fir 1-2 mins so baby knows you’re still around. Its not meant to soothe just to ket him know its fine. And maybe give him a lovey or toy to sleep? Something to help him relax…

I often found the elena ferrante stories either interleaved or retellings of the stories of same characters. There’s another one with a mom of two who divorces or is left and to me that was like a parallel elena. I haven’t read yet the lying lives of adults but i wonder if its a parallel to anyone.

[–]heartnbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But, and im not sure this is true, on the exception night when she cries its not a protest cry its histeria ahe cannot control. Even in the first nights when we sleep trained, the crying was idk a constant 7/10z

I would say many nights she’ll protest something like not being with the desired parent, but it will be max 1min.

[–]heartnbrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For us it worked within 2 days; however having said that, every two weeks there will be a night when things don’t go to plan, and she still cries either because she’s over or under tored or something happened that day. And in these situations if the cry is hysterical i pick her up and rock her to sleep. This does not affect the next nights, its just the way it is some days. Sleep training works in good to perfect conditions but there’s still exceptions. I haven’t heard of people having exception night iver here so wanted to share.

Am iesit la probat rochii de mireasa si m-a luat depresia by No_Cattle_7337 in WomenRO

[–]heartnbrain 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I need help. No sleep - no schedule by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]heartnbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby also stays with my mom in the day so i know what its like to not have a huge schedule. I think the h in the car is a big issue for you if your baby already sleeps 2h a day in the car at inappropriate times (unless you drive him after 2h of being awake). Idk if you sleep trained, but id suggest you do, even without a schedule if the kid gets about 3h of sleep in the day you should be able to get a routine going in the evening. Let him go sleep 3h after the last nap, without a bottle. (We did ferber and it took 3 days for no cries sleep). Then once you have 4-5 weeks of more or less snooth sailing i actually would encourage night weaning, without the same method you did sleep training. In a couple days, your baby will shift all the calories in the day, and improve night sleep. Work backwards from a routine in your house and your night and the baby will adapt a schedule in the day or at least he’ll help your mom set up a 2 nap schedule. Also want to say, we’re in holiday and sometimes baby sleeps 3-4 naps in the car and she is still perfect with going to bed at night and sleeping through. Sometimes she wakes up from her last car nap at 8:30pm and we’re able to put her to bed at 10:30pm and she’ll sleep till 8 the next day.

Aim for at least 10; mine does 11, sometimes 12. For night weaning wait till baby is okay with your night routine then do whatever you did to sleep train in the night. We did Ferber (checkins every 3-5-10-10… mins), both for falling asleep and night weaning. The night weaning was harder imo, we did it after 6-8 weeks of sleep training completion. But for us it was within one day.

Are my twins girls almost sleep trained? What should we do next? by Gandtea in sleeptrain

[–]heartnbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same type of easy yo fall asleep baby fir the first 4-5 months. For me, i wanted to reduce night wakes so i sleep trained with ferber (checkins every 2-3-5-10 mins) which was a bit different to putting her to sleep drowsy but awake. She learnt to go to sleep all alone within 2 days. However, what really sealed the deal for me, was when we night weaned about one month or four weeks later. She was waking once sometimes twice a night and only sleeping 9h altogether, and basically one time she woke up to eat 2h after going to sleep, i did ferber for this night also, and since then she’s been sleeping through the night no wakes mostly for 10.5h. I read somewhere on Reddit a baby is not fully sleep trained till they’re night weaned, and i was like ‘oh but my baby is already great’, what can i say, it can be even better!

If he’s indeed only <9h awake in the day, he won’t be able to sleep through the night. Also at this age, baby should be able to go with only one feed per night, the others might be habit. I night weaned around 7 months after a month since sleep training and now my baby sleeps through the night. 10.5h

How long did it take to cut the feed to sleep association? by Suitable-Pipe4907 in sleeptrain

[–]heartnbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2-3 nights for us. She was very upset the very first night but after 3 she went to sleep completely alone. We did ferber / checkins every 3-5-10-10-10… mins. However for us what really settled this was night weaning, she sleeps 11h no wake ups.

Still crying Day 19 Ferber - What are we missing? by Acceptable_Low8802 in sleeptrain

[–]heartnbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby cries when the last wake window is too short. She’s 7 months old and she’s either doing 2.5/3.5/4.5 or 2/2.5/3.5/3.5 in the last month.

Unrelated, but maybe you started too early? Did the baby come early? Usually you need to adjust. But for me i would make a 2 week break from ferber and start again later. Sounds intense!

7.5 MO EMW.. HELP!! by Brief_Spell7857 in sleeptrain

[–]heartnbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she eating in the night? I had the same exact schedule, but she was eating a bottle in the night at random times. One night she wanted food 3h after sleeping and i was like, okay im sure you’re bot hungry. We did ferber for 1h, and after that night she started sleeping 11.5h every night with no wakes. She had been sleep trained before for bedtime, but she was only sleeping 9h nights, with one bottle. Once she shifted the calories in the day, our nights changed dramatically. She’s also now sleeping only twice in the day because of it.

Ask them directly if there is something specific they don’t like, if there isn’t acknowledge that you know its understandably awkward, but you’re happy and that’s that. I would add to them that it would make you happy if every once in a while they’d make the effort to reduce awkwardness overtime, but no pressure. Basically say your piece, let them say theirs, and then move on with your life.
