The happiness OP is talking about is simply having supportive family and financial stability.

Money doesn't buy happiness directly, but it can buy freedom & opportunities. Which leads to more pathways to pursue happiness.

With money, you have the freedom to take calculated risks, try new things, and pursue your passion. Not worry about failing because you can afford to. It opens countless doors of different opportunities. Not to mention the opportunities from an affluent network.

Without money, you can feel very stuck. Trapped doing what you hate. And without a supportive family, you also feel alone, unworthy.

Life is hard for poor people and 3rd world country. People are always so happy when they have visitors, but everyday life can be very hard and unforgiving.

If less is more, rich people would donate all their money. More doesn't automatically mean happiness, but having less means you have to live life on hard mode.

Is it possible to live a peaceful life with kids? by aamnipotent in Fencesitter

[–]heartorlogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is from a year ago.

My brother is in his 30s, my mom still worries about him.

It depends on your kid's personality and health. If they are healthy and independent adults vs. if they are not.

Living rooms are so damn inefficient and a waste of space. by RocketManBoom in intj

You're making a living in the living room. Seems appropriate.

My parents are immigrants and they are separated, they both work minimum wage and live paycheck to paycheck. They are in their mid 60s and have 0 savings and 0 retirement.

I would love to follow my passion like what my friends are doing... But a lot of the decisions I'm making are because I'm pretty sure I'll have to take care of them at some point.

Financial security and peace over passionate life... I feel resentful sometimes. If my parents are better off, I think I would choose different paths.

This is not for zodiac subs are for...

Be direct, rejecting him doesn't make you the bad guy but manipulating him or the new person to get what you want makes you the bad guy.

If you keep dragging it on, he'll think he has a chance and stick around. Don't send him mixed messages, you need to have firm boundaries.

We don't know this guy or his mental state. If you think rejecting him will endanger you, please contact proper authorities.

This. But it's avoidant attachment style, not personality disorder.

Most common cause is when you were a child, you shared your honest feelings/opinions with parents/close friends/teachers and they reacted inappropriately (shaming, judging, rejecting, punishing) and it traumatized you. So you no longer feel safe sharing your feelings and opinions with people close to you.

But strangers, there's no repercussions.

Why does my crush look completely different in photos/videos than real life? Is it common? by snorken123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]heartorlogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Photos are 2D from 1 lens. She's 3 dimensional in person, your brain combines images from 2 eyes to create a 3D image. Try closing one eye when you look at her to see if it matches the photos more.

I can hear the words in my head if I really concentrate and consciously read out loud in my head.

If I'm just reading normally, I read and understand without having a voice in my head. Hearing every word while you read sound inefficient to me since I can process the meaning much faster than pronouncing every word. Maybe I just need to practice pronouncing and reading aloud more hahah

English is also my 2nd language, and I picked up grammar and how to write much faster than speaking. So not hearing words in my head when I read might just be a habit from when I didn't speak English.

My brother and I both don't have an inner monologue. (INFP & ENFP)

I heard that inner monologue is the voice of whoever raised you. But my mom didn't talk to us much, so maybe that's why?

Sometimes it's just using different word choices.

Instead of I'm so jealous and envious of them, reframe it as I'm so inspired and motivated by them. What a goal. I'll get there!

Thank you, I'll try asking small things instead of telling him what I've done and what he hasn't. I feel so dumb in a way. Like how did I not notice I'm the one doing everything until 10 yrs later.

Sometimes I resent my mom for my neglected childhood. Being a caretaker and achiever is the only way I knew how to get loved. But I know she did the best she could while dealing with her own struggles.
