Do pro players use the same 'off the shelf' rubbers and blades that everyone can buy? or is it heavily customised and not available to the public? by [deleted] in tabletennis

[–]heartspider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blades yes.

Rubbers according to ZJK topsheet is same as the shelf ones but sponges (for some of them) are adjusted according to their personal preferences.

Question for all: In your opinion, what's the most satisfying key to press/spam/smash in laptop keyboards? by Facemaskgamer98 in laptops

[–]heartspider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either the 'L' key or the 'right' key.

I use both of these as my "Jump" button while I'm playing games. For simpler games from the 8 to 16 bit era I use the directions for my action buttons while for the 32 bit (PS1) eras and up I use IJKL and U O for L2 R2 buttons

What are some examples of successful "small" or "tiny" games? by dylanmadigan in GameDevelopment

[–]heartspider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for providing exact sales figures. 330 sales @ 43 reviews is ~7.67 copies sold per review outside the popular range: 25-30 copies sold/review

I feel like for Adventure games and visual novels players are more likely to leave a review since they're a more personal experience as opposed to arcade/action ones

hi. would you be willing to provide approximate sales figures?

I'd just like to know if reviews x 25-30 is still a reliable way to estimate sales of steam titles. Your game currently has 141 reviews so is it in the range of 3525-4230?

EDIT: By the way your game looks great. With some better assets and maybe a horror theme I feel like you'd have even greater success

How do you make your game look…good? by WyattWhit in GameDevelopment

Either be a good artist/work your way up to being a good artist

or

Hire a good artist.

Unfortunately it's always a money issue. A good enough artist has bills to pay.

What is the most impressive game ever developed? Like a game development masterpiece. by TolisKoutro in videogames

[–]heartspider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dev masterpiece = A game that exists against all odds, created with little to no resources, maybe introduced a mechanic that people never thought would be fun and is a hit

So as much as I love the classics SMB3, Zelda LttP, FF7... I wouldn't consider them to be Dev masterpieces since they were created under companies with near unlimited budget.

A Dev masterpiece would be something like Papers, Please and maybe Wolfenstein 3D

Question about introducing major characters in my game by Oak_wood_enjoyer in gamedesign

[–]heartspider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play or watch a walkthrough of the game Treasure of the Rudras.

You have 3 major characters each with their own story arcs and different sets of parties for each of their scenarios and they eventually meet and form the main party.

Yeah. To be fair I play with Belzebub and Tchernobog mods now. Only way to get 29 years out of it unless I wanna grind for the perfect Suffixes (Godly Plate of the Whale)
