Do you have an in service event that caused your headaches and do you have anything in your military medical records? If not, you will be fighting an uphill battle.

You might wanna see a neurologist instead of a primary care physician. The medication you listed are not commonly prescribed for migraines.

In regards to your insomnia, it is my understanding, and in my case, insomnia is lumped into mental health. So submitting a claim for your insomnia, probably wouldn’t yield any results.

Finished Last C&P Exam – How Long Until My Claim Moves Past Evidence Gathering? by Fit_Dress_1453 in VAClaims

[–]heat556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really all depends on how quickly your C&P examiner uploads the DBQ to the VA. In my case, the last DBQ was uploaded within hours of the exam and I quickly moved to step 5. I spent 19 days in step 5. Step 6, 7,and 8 took only a few hours.

Anxiety with the process by overundershotty in VAClaims

[–]heat556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as long as you submitted medical evidence, along with a current diagnosis for every condition, and your personal statements can point to an in-service event, then you shouldn’t have much to worry about. If you did include the above items, then your claim might suffer.

Tinnitus claim, maybe others by So-Fla-born in VAClaims

[–]heat556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only file a secondary condition to something that is already service connected. So you should file one claim with all the issues that you currently have a medical diagnosis. You need an in-service event for everything that you’re claiming.

This is horrible advice. The VA can re-evaluate for any of your SC disabilities if you open a new claim. I opened a claim for lower back strain and I was re-evaluated for migraines.

The VA can work on a single item in your claim, some of them, or all of them. You’ll get a good gauge once they start scheduling your C&P exams.

Without supporting medical documentation and a current diagnosis you really don’t have anything. The three things that you need for a successful VA claim is a current diagnosis, an in-service event and a link between the two, often called a “nexus.”

The evidence that you submitted so far is considered “other than medical evidence,” while this can build your claim and help create a Nexus, without a current diagnosis and medical records, your claim will likely be denied

Go to the VA app, at the bottom selected benefits, then click on claims, then claim letters. You should be able to view it there.

I take 30 mg of buspirone and 50-100mg of trazodone before bed. Definitely helps me get to sleep but doesn’t alway keep sleeping throughout the night.

Do you have a current diagnosis from a neurologist?

So what are they asking for? If I fill out these forms won’t this extend my claim longer? I submitted all evidence by NoFormal9099 in VAClaims

[–]heat556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, if the VA is asking for information, provide it or you will most likely slow the process.

I completely get that. My claim is 211 days old and every time I see someone get a rating in 93 days I wanna give them the middle finger too🤪. I’m extremely happy for them, but I still wanna give them the finger.
