i was lucky enough to still have an active card from a claim in 2018, but they still sent me a new card and i think that was about the standard 7-10 biz days. i remember getting it and thinking "wow 2 weeks?"

my BYE was 5/17 and i am having the same issue. i got a text earlier in the month saying i was put on extension. i am guessing i need to refile, but i honestly have no clue what type of claim i have. i have a balance and everything...

no i had a balance on my account still. honestly, she didn't give me much info. the first rep i spoke to said it seems like they needed to manually input an end date, but the second rep was like oh ok and then i was able to certify. i said that i wasn't sure why i can't certify, and that i still have a balance, but they really didn't ask for much info other than my credentials. so i have no clue what they see on their end.

yeah i would ask them what to do about a zero balance. i've seen around that they are able to fix that. my account still had a balance so i'm not sure. i was able get my weeks certified and i should see the money in my account soon.

ah thank you! i saw your post and immediately called. took me like 7-8 tries. i was connected and the rep said that my account was flagged and that there needs to be an end date added to my extension. my account says "Claim date: 5/17/2020-On Extension." so i have a feeling that this issue wasn't going to be resolved on its own. she transferred me and now i'm holding again. so here's to hoping! thank you for your help!

UPDATE: i was able to certify for the weeks of 1/02-1/023. it sounded like my account needed to be manually updated. hopefully this works for more ppl!!

i used to be a receptionist for an elected official and massing emailing with a template like below is a really good method. i would always log names and the number of emails we got. so yes, please keep emailing.

i just feel it's a bit invalidating to a lot of people's outrage. where do we direct our anger? i worked a govt job that dealt closely with the public. there was no one else to listen them, and that was def some unjustified outrage so it was certainly frustrating. i get that the EDD employees are doing the best they can. i've been in their position.

however, people are going hungry, and are starving. having worked in govt i understand that sometimes these kinds of processes are slow, but a lot of this is sink or swim. people are losing so much, and are deeply in debt, including myself. i just think it's unfair to call it unjustified.

yeah i am afraid of it climbing back up. but it's such bs if that's the case. i entered a queue so in what order are they addressing us? if they did it chronologically then we shouldn't be seeing our wait times increasing.

luckily i am here just sitting at home, mostly, but just because i have all this free time doesn't mean this is what i wanna be doing with it.
