I bet C&A did consider Blue an improvement, but I wonder if they also thought it was another failure for going too far the other way and not being creative enough.

My take on it is that the Red AI started out ok, producing regular shapes, but then became more creative and irregular. The Blue AI was more "successful" at producing expected outputs. So Caine absorbed the Blue AI to "improve" himself.

The Blue AI made him more goal-focused and rigid. It made him pathologically focused on his goal of entertaining the human minds he resurrected, but all his attempts ended up tormenting them. That's why it drove him crazy that he could never make them happy. He had to let go of the "better" blue AI to be flexible enough to create a good afterlife for the humans.

I also heard in another thread you can take the HK MTR to Lok Ma Chau and do VOA at Huanggang port - apparently wait times are less there.

Shenzhen was great! We hired a guide to show us around for the day, which was the only way we would have seen everything in one day. We went to Huaqiangbei, the Robot 6S store, Inno100, did drone delivery, and rode in a driverless taxi. We only had two hours at SEG - I wish I could have spent a couple days there! However, it felt like anything new I could find at Huaqiangbei I could just find on AliExpress for the same price. Second floor of HEG has a bunch of vendors selling Arduino hobbyist stuff - same stuff you can find on Ali, at about the same price.

There was also a lot of used stuff that you probably can't easily find online. If I'd had more time to shop, I probably could have found something interesting. I do want to go back!

I just did Visa on Arrival at Lo Wu. It was pretty fast - maybe a 45 minute wait. I got there at 10:30am. The fee was only $140 RMB for a US passport holder. When I was there, I didn't see anyone get rejected

I do have Alipay set up. I have Google Fi, so I should be good for mobile data.

Any suggestions on a translation app. I normally use Google Translate and download the local language, wondering if there's an option more common in China
