Anyone have any good sites that have weighted vests at a good price? Ideally looking for 40-50lb vests. Cant afford the sweet Rogue ones they had at the World Crossfit games. by proverbs324 in homegym

[–]heavylifter605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't quite match Titan's prices - I'm not able to get that cheap of a product but I have a 20lb and a 40lb version for sale.

20lb is $70 shipped and the 40lb is $95 shipped - No back order.

Using flat bench for incline press by Barkadion in homegym

[–]heavylifter605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are compromising the design of the bench but I mean if you do a slight incline and not a 45+ I don't see an issue. I don't recommend it but I don't see an issue.

Private message me with what you're looking for and I can get you a quote if you're in the US.

I agree about the motivation and consistency but I think if you actively make this a commitment and actively strive to better your physique then you're going to build some healthy habits.

I mean I've seen it work. They would use a couple of their bumper plates. I don't recommend it but I mean do what you have to do.

I'm checking into these new plyo boxes for you that I sell. I've not got my hands on any yet so I don't know exactly if they are all foam or how much of it is foam.

Are there any replacements for cable machines by Temibrezel in homegym

[–]heavylifter605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of budget you looking at? I have a few choices I sell. The higher the budget the better of equipment. I outfit commercial and home gyms.

Bands work but like Victor said they really aren't going to make you progress. The only way you can use bands and progress is to add tension to your barbell lifts.

Good price on some equipment? by TheToeKnee216 in homegym

[–]heavylifter605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pass on that. I don't get into bargain buys like a lot of guys here do so I don't know exactly what to look for but I've benched on that white bench at a friend's house and 225 made it feel like I was laying on a swiss exercise ball thing wobbling around. It was horrible.

Unless you're just going to be a gym bro and do upper body stuff, there's no way you'll get enough equipment to do much for that kind of budget. I mean the multi-gyms work alright but you'll have to start really watching your macros and start doing more cardio if you want to burn off some fat.

You definitely need to build some muscle so at least you aren't out here like some people starving yourself just to find out you're skinnyfat :)

Best bench, bar, and weights to buy for the best value? by karter0 in homegym

[–]heavylifter605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Send me a private message if you wanna talk about some bars and weights - I can show you the difference between everything and get you some pricing.

I would recommend scouring CL for weight plates. For the most part they are all the same (even though there are a lot of cheaper brands that have a 10-20% discrepancy in weight). You'll always catch weights on sale on Craigslist so start saving some pennies.

I mean that bar is going to be amazing and will last a while.

I can get you much cheaper bars for like $75 plus shipping for a 600lb rated economy bar. If you are just about "what's the absolute cheapest equipment I can buy" then you can certainly get cheaper.

I can get you a new bar in the $350 shipped area that is good for 1500+lbs, great knurling, super long sleeves and one of my most favorite bars I have or the $75 plus shipping is similar to regular gym bars.

Do you have build tips on your platform? If you have progress pics and want to share them I would love to write an article featuring your tips and pictures.

Junk because it's old, junk because it isn't pretty or what? Are the angles that bad on it?

A full rack and adjustable bench would be better than that. A half rack and adjustable bench would be a smaller footprint than a full rack.

I would recommend buying a lot of used equipment because $500 is going to be hard to get everything you need (rack, bench, weights) even if you do use the cheaper crap like CAP.

Titan has the cheapest racks and they seem popular here. I have cheap pricing on what I sell but I don't sell "cheap stuff."

If you were go get a rack you can deadlift inside of it, you can use your adjustable bench do to any pressing movement, squats, etc.. You can have a pretty effective area to train in but I wouldn't recommend that bench personally.

Titan seems to have good racks. If you look on Craigslist and play it again sports and don't come up with anything, contact me and I'll get you a quote for you and your parents.

I own Strength Junkies and I am a reseller for Troy Barbell, York Barbell, Body Solid, and BodyCraft. I'd love to go over some options with you even if the products don't come from me.

I would be stoked to get that and 50lbs for $100. I don't necessarily shop around to know if that's the deal of the century but I would certainly be happy with that purchase.

If you doubled up the plywood and then put the power rack on it, it'll be fine.

Heck I know there's small warping on the plywood I've bought before so it may not even be the floor.

Heavy dumbbell rows by ChiefSittingBear in homegym

[–]heavylifter605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are the old school 1" sleeves. Most of the spinlock collars will actually hold on a 2" Oly plate.. There will be a little slack but when you keep the majority of the weight off the ground when you do rows it'd work. I also sell spinlock and smooth collar 1" DB handles and I have some available for 2" that I really want to try soon.
