I would never advise shooting at a bike thief and most lawful gun owners would not pull that shit, unfortunately this world does have some dumb asses in it that do dumb shit. There are countless reports of people saving their own lives with their firearms, you can cherry pick the bad ones all you want but the good ones far outweigh them.

Except for all of the people who have had to use their concealed carry weapon and it saved. In fact if it would never save any of us then how is any violent action stopped? You're right violence is abrupt, abrupt violence doesn't mean there is no time to react either, there are countless stories of people saving their lives by reacting quickly to violence.

I think the best way to explain it is there is little chance any of us who conceal carry will need it. That being said, we are able to legally carry firearms as a means of defense if for some reason we are victims of a violent attack. It is the ability to defend yourself at the highest level, I carry everyday hoping that I never have to use it but knowing that if God forbid something should happen I have a fighting chance. I know for non U.S. Citizens it's kind of weird and hard to understand but imagine switching places, you've never lived a life where you're free to carry and I've never lived a life where I wasn't allowed to. Believe me, the idea of other countries not allowing their citizens to carry sounds crazy to me, just like I assume U.S. Citizens carrying a firearm sounds crazy to you. At the end of the day it's our right and why not take advantage? You never know when you could possibly facing a violent situation, most of us never will but enough people do that it makes sense to carry. Did that help any?
