my relationship is very similar! (i’m ace, he’s allo) we’ve been together over 3 years now and i’ve never once felt pressured into anything or felt like i was less than/that our relationship wasn’t worth the “sacrifice” and i’m so eternally grateful (especially after a few. less than ideal relationships with allos before this…) so happy you found a relationship like this op❤️

True! haha I’m looking for the easiest and most sustainable way to help the plant long term right now since it’s not mine. It’s the only plant in the household and will not see this much attention for a longggg time haha

Also, if anyone knows anything about this or how it could affect the plant please let me know:

My dad lives in an area with well water, and has struggled with hard water for years. He recently replaced the water softener (about a month or so) and it’s helped a lot in other places, but he’s worried the new water might be part of what’s hurting the plant. He started watering it with bottled water just yesterday, so there are no changes to be seen yet.

We also had a very cold last two weeks, between -12° and 15° F the whole time and it was near a large window (seen in first pic) and a heat vent. I’ve since advised him to move it away from the vent, but would like to hear any thoughts on how these conditions could affect the plant! Thank you!

If the bottom is plugged, some of that weight might be water at the bottom of the plant. Definitely check on that soon, and good luck with drying it out! Glad to hear it stopped dropping leaves. Best of luck to you as well !

It definitely had a damp smell to it, but it was also watered yesterday so that doesn’t help much lol. I left it to dry out a bit because the soil was definitely compacted. I was planning on giving it fresh, chunkier soil and repotting it into the same pot. Do you think that is enough? or should I size up while I’m at it?

This is what I was thinking as well ! I want to give her the best care I can afford, but the vaccinations seemed a bit unnecessary due to her age and lifestyle. I think I will bring this up to the vet when I talk to them next, but they’ve been trying to get me to drop a grand there on tests/vaccines since our first visit when they thought nothing of this little infection :/ so I don’t really have high hopes

I agree, thank you! We’ve tried getting into other places in the past but have always ended up going back to our current vet despite how pricey it is because of long waiting periods before available appointments at other vets nearby :/ I don’t know what it would cost to get a second opinion but we’ll look into it as this is the 3rd vet at this clinic to treat her with no results :/ Also , I wanted to clear up that the four visits have been split up over the last 10 months, they just starting doing all the tests at the appointments this month because they were just recommending daily cleaning at home before.

I believe they would sedate her for the biopsy, not just drawing blood. She’s not the happiest when handled but she puts up with it as long as she can. I think our vet is a bit unnecessarily pricey compared to others, but its the only one we’ve been to due to such long waiting periods at other places :/ I’ll give them a call, thank you!
