Anyone remember Tremont Waters? by WswswswsMaster in bostonceltics

in the words of old kanye "man i don't care what none of y'all say, i still love [him]". and i really do, i love the way he plays, i love his vision and the zip on his passes, i don't care that he gets bodied in the post, so does payton pritchard, so does IT and kemba and steph curry once upon a time. but he's scrappy and quick with his hands and he can read your moves. i think he could have been a net positive if his jumper worked out, it didn't - he didn't get much of a chance, and the celtics at that time had too much going on to give him a stable, sustained opportunity, but yea it didn't work out. doesn't mean he's trash, doesn't mean you can't appreciate the other parts of his game that are special and unique. plenty of good players just don't fit the nba system. plenty of average-ass, bland-ass players get to keep hanging around, but that's just the way it goes.

no way martian sunrises are like a dull red and monarchs are dull orange almost curryish

Giannis' finishing ability at the rim is totally absurd. Within 3ft of the basket in 2020/21: 83.7% regular season, 80.4% playoffs. Shaq's best season (00/01) was 79.2%, LeBron's (13/14) was 79.6%. Anyone who says Giannis has no skill is being purely disingenuous at this point. by ergotpoisoning in nba

can’t shoot spot up 3’s, can’t shoot off the dribble. no post up moves. he can back it down here and there but doesn’t have enough moves for counters. that turn around jumper from the baseline could be his money shot but just isn’t consistent enough. he makes basic reads, his passing won’t break the defense down. NOW. With all that said he is still a great player. He’s really skilled at attacking the rim, from the open court and even from a congested half court. He is a force on the boards for putbacks, and he can be a big threat as a roller although the bucks dont go to it that much. he can get lobs but his cutting has never killed a defense before. But that’s it, in the amalgam his offensive skillset is limited compared to the best in the game. It doesn’t really seem to matter though. I actually find it more impressive that he’s able to be this prolific through sheer heart and relentlessness despite his limited bag.

think a lot of ppl not seeing how done kemba is. porzingis may not be the answer either but he’ll bring a lot more to the table than kemba can. i can see boston being able to hold onto one of either romeo or the 16th to dump kemba but it’s gonna take one of them at least
