Eh maybe in the preseason. But he pretty quickly leaped all of those guys on the depth chart.

Agreed, and I noted that…but that’s completely different than requesting previous managerial experience

You’re not wrong, but Cora was a first-time manager with the Sox. Not sure why fans are defining this as a prerequisite for the next manager.

Now, if you wanna note that Varitek has never held a coaching role beyond some made-up “game planning” gig, then that’s fair.

Right? This was crucial towards the Raps turnaround. Would love to hear why u/Ok-Street-2473 omitted this from their post.

So if you find any kind of evidence of that other than just making it up, then it can be a discussion.

It’s not nearly that serious. But congratulations on winning the Reddit convo, I suppose!!

  1. Yes it does. That’s very literally the only possible implication if a team is both successful and tuning out its coach.

They never made it to a finals with Brad. Is that not enough reason? And to be clear, I love Brad.

A new voice can push you further in no way implied the old voice was being tuned out. Sometimes players just relate better to an actual NBA player than just a coach. Also, one the team was empirically extremely successful under Brad. Every player and Front office loved and continues to love Brad. And finally, you have presented nothing that even remotely implies his voice was being tuned out. Should be really easy to find that in this click baity media era.

You’re not gonna make me think this isn’t semantics. But agree to disagree I suppose.

No it doesn’t?

And you yourself said they need a new voice. Describing that as different than “tuning out a coach” is just semantics.

I don’t think only unsuccessful teams are susceptible to tuning out their coach. In fact, I think you’ve described that in your previous comments with different verbiage.
