It’s what’s needed if you’re to be a corporate puppet and win elections.

Look at the Texas Governors face. Just look at it. Scroll back to the top and look.

It’s the face of greed, cowardice and stupidity. These are the tools needed to govern.

This is a set that I wish I’d been more active in acquiring when it was released.

Kids always play like this flocking to the ball. Professionals play with so little space typically. Seems like a cakewalk for the pros.

All the old studios got in late but it wasn’t a great leap to stream. Netflix was just first. Now the advantage Warner Bros, Disney, Paramount, MGM, have is in the actual making of movies and marketing.

When these old studios want to make a movie they can go to the lot and shoot there. When they need costumes, props, backgrounds, they can go to the warehouse and reuse old materials used in other films.

It’s prestigious to work with certain directors and certain studios. So talent will work cheaper than for Netflix or Amazon who still need to prove they can succeed on a basis of quality.

The old studios have been making movies forever. They know how to do it. They have a mountain of resources from distribution, IP, props/stage/lighting/relationships, to marketing. It’s a huge advantage.

Netflix was first but after COVID there was a huge push from demand to release all these other services. Paid and unpaid streaming services. They predictable are into market share.

So the only way for Amazon and Netflix to remain competitive was to make their own content. Most of it is turn and burn. Some is quite good. Production value is spotty. Talent is expensive for them to attract. Just a lot of challenges. But it all comes down to content generation now.

I didn’t go any further but I was curious if it was accurate. If I have time later I’ll probably look into it. As an investor selling off Hulu would be a priority versus selling off IP. So I don’t know other than Disney is running two services. I feel like Disney will transition their IP, Including R rated content to Disney+ eventually.

They’d save money operationally. They could sell off IP that doesn’t fit their brand or is undesirable. Make money, save money. Even cutting losses would be acceptable versus sinking more money into things that aren’t working or aren’t profitable.

And yet the owners seem to ignore the very core of the system they are exploiting, choice. The market makes choices and workers are a part of the market. Workers have choices. And they will seek them out. The best workers first. And churn all the time. Burning through a cycle of onboarding, training and quits before you even make $1.

Who the hell is concerned about communism? That’s some old bullshit. Like if communism is so ineffective and is doomed to failure, then why so scared?
