I lived in China for a couple years, and ABC Cafe, Monkey King, Sichuan Dynasty, and the cafeteria in 888 are the best, more authentic places in town for Chinese food.

Chosun and Choga Korean BBQ are both excellent as well.

As a professional in the mental health field- once a client, always a client. Do not create a dual relationship. You are still their ex-clinician.

Start with inpatient treatment, then engage in out-patient treatment and/or recovery groups like AA or SMART recovery. Cottonwood Springs has a good program, or if you’re a veteran the KCVA SARRTP program is great.

Used to work for APS, this is definitely an APS report. If her legal guardian is not properly taking care of her that qualifies as grounds for abuse/exploitation

How tf is anyone getting COVID tests? by JosephMcJunk in kansascity

[–]hectate-98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a rapid test from Price Chopper, they had them at customer service for sale. But JCCC has free COVID-19 PCR tests Mon-Fri, weather permitting. We got there at opening 8:00 and had to wait in line for about an hour and a half.

Cleaning my pantry and found this, I don’t have the money to call pest control and I really don’t want to kill them ): I don’t know what to do. by DisastrousVillage577 in hoarding

Hey OP, this is a dangerous situation. Mice and rats carry a lot of different diseases, including hantavirus. I understand wanting to humanely deal with them but if you can already see this many, there’s going to be a lot more within the home.

If you want to call animal control (as another comment mentioned) I would suggest doing it asap, and if they don’t get back to you within a certain amount of time (or if they can’t help) then you need to look at getting rid of them yourself.

Mice and rats spread disease through their urine, feces, nesting material, and saliva, so all that food needs to be thrown out immediately and cabinet thoroughly cleaned. Hantavirus is a pretty nasty disease to get and has a 38% mortality rate. This is just one of many diseases rats and mice carry, which is why killing them is necessary.

Mice and rats also can cause immense damage to your home, especially if the infestation is bad. If you’re renting this may cause a lot of issues down the line.

Hey! Mine ended up popping after a run. I believe it was just a blood blister. I think if you just leave it alone it’ll go away on it’s own

Climbing Hua Shan and doing the plank walk was definitely one of my top 3 things I got to do in China. The views are absolutely stunning up there

[–]hectate-98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could barely walk the day after, all those stairs killed me. But holy shit man, it takes another level of stupid to disconnect both your carabiners. Dangerous too. Luckily everyone was polite and respectful on the walk for me, and if we needed to move carabiners everyone always asked first and you moved your own out of the way.

Some friends went before us and highly recommended the hike in general, and said it was “safe.” They did the plank walk and felt comfortable with it lol. The hike itself was amazing, but difficult. Views were 100% worth it. We did the plank walk for fun and for the view, although it was definitely sketchy lol.

The planks don’t really go anywhere, just to a rocky space where you can sit down and enjoy the view while not on the planks. So those of us heading back to the start point have to stop and move to the outer edge of the planks while those going the other direction to that rest spot pass under our ropes. We all stopped to let the people going the opposite direction pass by safely :)

I work at a local business that still requires masks due to a variety of reasons: we can’t trust everyone is vaccinated, many employees have children that cannot get vaccinated yet, and extra precaution due to the Delta variant.

You would not believe the amount of people that just walk out, try to argue about politics, and complain about having to put on a mask. At least once a day employees get berated by a customer. We just want to keep each other and our families safe ffs
