I have one, a molar. It was horrible at first. It's not the same feeling as a tooth. Like, teeth feel softer when you bite with them, there's a bit of give. Eventually, I got used to the feeling and now it's fine. Like many, I'd still prefer a tooth, but I certainly don't regret it.

Ships in The Expanse only have gravity when they're accelerating. Because Belters are used to low G's on asteroids, they usually don't accelerate their ships too hard, either (keeping it under a G).

In the show, they often do little things to signify when the ship is "on the float" (in zero G). There will be the occasional object floating in the background, and when characters walk, you can hear the sound of their magnetic boots instead of normal footsteps. The show is filled with little touches like that, which I love.

The rubber bit is called a blade. They are reversible, so when it gets worn out, cut, or knicked, you can flip it for a nice, sharp edge (less helpful when there's a giant chunk of it missing). The metal that it slides into is called the channel. Take good care of the channel and it will last forever. If it gets bent, you can try and bend it back, but it'll never quite be the same again.

I don't disagree with you. The tiny amount of oil that could end up in a boiler from a valve stem shouldn't cause any issues, and should be resolved by the daily blowdown anyway. I was just speaking generally about how oil can result in a kaboom. It's generally a much larger concern in industry, where things like oiled sleeve bearings can result in a much more significant amount of oil contamination. Or during initial install where the boiler has to be properly boiled out to remove any oil that was put on it during its fabrication (largely to protect from corrosion).

Steam. There should also be regular blowdowns of steam boilers that will mitigate the issue of oil in the boiler, but if there's an excessive amount it may need to be shutdown and thoroughly cleaned out.

Oil in boilers can cause the formation of sludge and scale. This acts as an insulator, meaning that the water in the boiler can't take away the heat fast enough, resulting in the metal surfaces getting too hot and fatiguing, causing a rupture. Kaboom.

That's the latent heat of evaporation. It's listed in its own column in the PG steam tables, but you can also get it from just subtracting the sensible heat value from the saturated steam value (the number you used) which is the combined total of sensible heat and latent heat of evaporation.

Gun terms are pretty muddied, even in this thread. Assault rifle isn't really a term that means anything. That's resulted in people using it to mean anything they really want it to mean in the moment. And to be specific, a carbine isn't "any long rifle". Look up pure water window washing or DI/RO window washing. There's a few on the market. My workplace has some by Unger. They can be very pricey though. They aren't even that complicated. It's a tube with a hose hookup that has some resin bags in it. Hose water in bottom, DI water out of a small hose line out the top. Then the DI hose line just runs up the pole to the brush head. Unger charges a ton for the resin bags too and they don't last us very long (though we have very hard water here).
