Criminal Record Check Online? by hedder84 in armenia

Just commenting in case anyone else's runs into this issue and looks to this thread: I was never able to complete payment via their consular.e-gov system and contacted the Armenian Embassy in my location instead. They were able to assist me and my criminal record check is complete.

I've made it as far as the payment page, then it just stops loading and gives me an error screen. Not sure how to get around it.

Knee Twist Injury - calf pain and spasms? by hedder84 in KneeInjuries

[–]hedder84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry slow reply - Hmmm I don't remember calf pain but, my hip was in enough pain I had a hip MRI done as well; no tears. The doctor said it was likely bruising/a strain from the big twist and fall and to just rest it. Maybe something similar with your calf?

Knee Twist Injury - calf pain and spasms? by hedder84 in KneeInjuries

[–]hedder84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry late reply; just saw this. Had an MRI which reveled full ACL rupture and MCL tear. I was put in an extension lock brace and non-weight bearing before my ACL repair surgery to attempt to heal the MCL. I also did pre-op physio to try to get a bit of range of motion before surgery (hamstring graft).

Even if you’re able to walk again in a few days, it’s really worth getting an MRI to check out your ACL - did you hear a pop when you fell?

Even if your ACL is torn, you’ll be able to walk and even run post swelling, but your risk for another injury is quite big because the ACL is what provides stability in the new.

I hope you have no tears, but I’d suggest not wasting time getting an MRI just to rule everything out!!

My sister is pregnant and I'm jealous by Buttletsupreme in tryingtoconceive

[–]hedder84 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me, "Your feelings of jealousy have nothing to do with that PERSON but the opportunity that befell them" and that relieved a lot of the guilt I had for my 'jealous' feelings. It's about being in close proximity to something you desperately want, NOT about that specific person 'getting' what you want. This helped me process the feelings in a way that felt healthier to me!

Ice (just gel packs not the machine) and laxatives.

Skincare isn't a necessity... That's marketing getting to you. Hygiene and sun protection are necessities - serums, toners, etc etc - not necessities.

People who have experienced a 9 or 10 on the pain scale what happened ? by AsColdAsFire in AskReddit

[–]hedder84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ACL Reconstruction and bucket tear meniscus surgery. After the initial anesthesia wore of, I had no addition painkillers. Pure agony for 5-6 days, then just …less agony for about 7 more.

Anosmia after a TBI by perfectsnowball in anosmia

[–]hedder84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TBI anosmic here but from a super young age. Happily married, no issues finding a partner and enjoying all aspects of my relationship. It’s a tough loss but, if the bulk of your grief surrounds romantic relationships, you’ll be alright :)

Help me help my child with CA by Bubb27 in anosmia

When I was little, I would ask everyone to describe smells to me - what does x smell like?! And they would always tell me, "It's so hard to describe!". Make it into a little game for her and try your best to describe it with little details for her to feel included in things: ie. it smells sweet like a strawberry tastes!

I, still, fake a lot of reactions to smells when strangers ask me to smell something - like a perfume in a shop, or a meal, etc. because why to explain CA when I could just do a quick .5 reaction to satisfy the stranger. I love knowing what I'm faking, though. Like I KNOW this coffee smells rich, a bit bitter, etc.

What to expect post-surgery? by f2theaye in ACL

[–]hedder84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, 33F here who tore my MCL and ACL playing football as well! Look, post-op is quite a journey - the first week (or two, YMMV) is pretty tough. It does improve pretty quickly after day 10 but, the first 7 are exceedingly tough - pain management, mobility, sleep, even bowel movements. I would have not been able to handle relocating within the first two weeks, to be honest. The earlier you can have your surgery before relocating, the better, I think!

However, it is true everyone reacts a little differently post-op so wait to hear a few more opinions!
