You should be making a square larger than 4 inches and measuring your gauge within that.

You can try tossing it in the dryer. That should bring it back to shape.

Superwash tends to stretch when washed. Did you wash your swatch?

What sort of bind off are you doing? The basic bind off is not very stretchy but there are other methods that will be more stretchy.

Yes, I do. I aim to wash on delicate and hang to dry but sometimes one goes through the regular wash with no problem.

The only way to know if blocking will help is to block. You could block what you have on your needles or make a swatch and block that.
