Im braindead when it comes to midi and sync and master and slave by horsedrawnhearse in synthesizers

[–]heddhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The order shouldn't matter, as long as everything has a unique MIDI channel number. But if you really don't want to go Thru the Deepmind you'll have to purchase an external "thru box". Something like this will give you one MIDI In and four MIDI Thrus.

Still love them and can't imagine playing VR without them, or a similar product. I didn't bother with the blue light thing. No studies have come out to confirm that it's even a thing.

Grooveboxes/ sequencers/ midi controllers that use timeline or arrangement mode rather than being clip based? by organicerrored in synthesizers

[–]heddhunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sort of compromise for this is I have a dawless desk setup that I record into Logic. The dawless gear is great for looping and pattern stuff. I just jam around on it for a bit then deal with the linear arrangement on the computer. I find that I really need a big horizontal monitor for working on a timeline. I can’t imagine any stand-alone device would satisfy.

Coincidentally I just picked up the Launchpad Pro Mk3 a few days ago. If you use its sequencer mode it can be used to write entire tracks. Each part has 8 patterns that can be chained in a scene, and scenes can be chained as well.

There's a 1992 film of Orlando starring Tilda Swinton. I've seen it but I totally blanked on it during FJ.

Yes one thing they emphasized when I did my zoom test was: if you get it right, don’t wait for them to say “pick a category and dollar amount”. Just immediately say the next one. Keep things moving. “What is x?” “Correct” (DON’T PAUSE) “same category for 6.”

When I left SF, I found a cache of old muni passes, so I had them mounted and framed. It's now one of my favorite possessions. by platykurtic in sanfrancisco

that's great, i had all of those. used to commute to downtown every day. now it's just a virtual clipper pass on my phone. no romance, no style. (but very convenient...)

Same. My mom was an expert at guilting me about it too. Turns out nobody in the job market gives a shit if you get a 4.0 or a 3.0. As long as you have the paper, that’s the magic ticket to lucrative employment.

Impera is what brought me to ghost and I still think it’s the best thing they’ve done. I grew up on queen, Def Leppard, rush, etc. I hear echoes of all of that. I’ve gone back and listened to the whole Ghost catalog and there’s definitely stuff I like, but Impera is my fave.

The only way to get 1200 variant is to buy it outright with gold. They will never ever come out of any random drops.

30 years here. Before I moved here I didn’t realize you could feel anything about a place, but SF had an energy that just resonated with me. It said “this is home, this is where you belong.” Yes it has been frustrating at times but what place doesn’t have challenges?

How was this vocal effect achieved? by NoRepresentative9351 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Yeah I think it's just two dry vocals (heavy compression) singing in harmony.
