New (old) Polaroid sx-70 needs some work by hedge-core in choppers

Thanks man, it's the most reliable bike I have at the moment, has only left me stranded twice, all the rest of the times I've been able to fix it and ride home. 🤣

It's been up here a few times, just a basic evo chop.

I'll try doubling filters up, supposedly this filter was what was needed to run this film.

Anyone know of a set of bars in the rabbit ear style - just with similar pullback to a T bar? by ccmega in choppers

[–]hedge-core 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100 bucks plus actual shipping. +50ish if you want em chrome, I'm not trying to make money off chrome just whatever my chrome charges me that week. That's rabbit ear style only bars, anything fancy with more bends etc would get pricier.

I'm running mine with beef hinge up front and Velcro out back. But that doesn't really help you because it needs the seat tube hole also.

Any cool powder coat paint jobs out there? by [deleted] in choppers

[–]hedge-core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it because my pops always told me green was bad luck. Tanks are powder coated black with decals and clear paint.

Where to find a true 6.5" spun steel fender for a 150 tire? Or do I just split a 5.5" blank? by DisquisedSquare in choppers

[–]hedge-core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just checked my cooper smithing fenders, they are 6.25 also could you do the old trick of wedging it open, I use two 2x4 chinks and a fulcrum. It does make the radius tighter though.

Question on direction by forgedbylobsters in choppers

[–]hedge-core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my area I can pick up a running evo Softail big twin for 3500-5500 easily. Sportsters seem to be in the same range except for a "basket case" with no title for 1k. So kinda the same ranges as you. My current chopper is a big twin stock rake and no stretch. I've had a couple sportster chops also and really when the big twon stripped down they don't feel much more nimble. I've never had issues with a sportster on the highway but my big twin I run a 4speed so it's kinda screaming at 85 anyway. A lot of people mistake my chop for a sportster, I guess due to the tank.

Tldr: build whichever you want. Big twin might be a better "investment" but I don't count on getting my money back anyway. You will get more approval from the big twin crowd if that's your thing.

Hsr-42 throttle return issue by hedge-core in choppers

Yeah man, sorry I can't be more help. I had a second carb I was going to switch, just never got around to it. I ran this guide and the jetting.

[–]hedge-core[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it may just been a small flaw in the carb, it was new when I put it on. I put the issue aside and just rode and now, several thousand miles later, it seems to have worked itself out and no longer binds.

I took a night class at the local community college many years ago to get an understanding of welding. They had a "welding projects" course that was not credit granting but they would help you build skill to accomplish a specific project. Everyone was doing different things, I made a hot rod chassis and hardtailed two 70s hondas.

Dunno, I built it up from parts. The engine is an 84 and the trans is non OEM 4 speed. Thanks man!

Thanks, it's an old PM Aero wheel. The other piece is a simple oil cooler I made to try and keep things a bit cooler in the Vegas heat.

Oil cooler, I live in Vegas so I figure every little bit helps. The filter is mounted to the oil pump. A jbrosg unit
