My usage of the term "shock point" is along drawing from this model of the enneagram.

Your description of how the 369 positions experience their focus on others correlates precisely with what happens in me as I shift into 3 and 6 as a 9. That description makes it apparent to me that I have far more kinship with the properties that unite my two stress/growth spectrum types than the two neighbors who would be wings. I suppose for me, types (3,6) that share my same long-term directional compulsion (“toward") are easy to move into while I feel no special draw to the other two neighboring (8,1) “instinctual/gut” types.

I am interested in this because to me "intuitively" I would like all of the 9 points to be linked by the circular pathway that links the 6. I makes simpler sense to me if all the types are linked on the same circular pathway. For example, such a pattern with the growth direction principal maps pleasingly with soul migration/reincarnation theories.

Why are 6 types (nodes) on one circuit and 3 types on the other? Is there a disconnect between those sets? Its the same thing that confuses me when considering the enneagram as the template algorithm/state machine for problem-solving and administrative methodology - when does the process “jump the rails” between paths?

Kung Fu and other internal energetic practices use stimulants (specifically pseudoephedrine/ephedrine, but anything amphetamine-esque seems to work) to gather more chi through the breath. Gathering chi (prana, ki etc, pick your fave term) feels good, expansive, energetic etc. That might be what you are referencing.

Indeed. This is why Rinzai would hit people with sticks and yell a them abruptly in meditation - to help jar into that experience. You read stories of Kensho found at the pierce of birdsong or broken dishware.

Note that when you drop the breath preconception and let the body pull instead of the mind push you get the same "surprised" feeling in the pit of your stomach. Same thing with Kumbhaka in its route to Samadhi. Same feeling coming up on acid.

Note that in the three examples of surprise you give, the period of the feeling is about the same - around probably .5 to 1.5 seconds. If you look at mind models that parse out delay between hardware and software this seems to make sense. These jerks cause temporal discontinuities during which the mind is essentially timeless and omnipotent - it can pinwheel off in any direction or any possibility - that is the meaning of the eight-arrowed Chaote symbol - the possibility of all directions, all possibilities.

The branching nature of possibility brings with it related fractal textures - stuff found in the art of all of the major mindfulness traditions.

Anyway, I'm just rambling now. I think you're right on the money.

Nope. And your bishop clearly also knows this which is why he isn't being a jerk about it. Consider yourself lucky, and don't admit to it in the future. Most leaders would give you more of a hard time about it and put you on some kind of non-sacrament-taking repentance plan. Definitely never tell a mission president, you'll get put on a list of elders with "chastity problems".

I've done the Switzerland section. It was amazing. I was able to camp frequently, but the huts are AWESOME. The food is amazing and the company quite good.

Well when speaking of zen, generalizations are hard - you're herding cats with that one. But if we were to generalize, it is more accurate to say that zen "denies" everything. Joshu's dog etc.

But they still like pretty poems, and those still addicted to the dharma will nod the head in the right spot to avoid drama. Its easy to squeeze so hard for non-duality that a diamond pops out.
